A wellness center for first responders and their families in the Boardman Township and surrounding areas, the Smith First Responder Wellness Center offers tailored programming, focusing on trauma-informed resiliency, compassion fatigue, and more. While it is not intended to replace existing mental health treatment the center provides training, support, and classes around their five pillars of wellness: physical, emotional, spiritual, mental, and social. Their areas of focus include recovery & addiction, diet & exercise, financial well-being, crisis awareness, retirement, suicide awareness, and more. They host regular trainings tailored to both active and retired first responders. A 5,500 square foot facility on the 55-acre Smith property is for training, education, and mental health services while a 6,000 square foot warehouse will be designed for physical wellness.
