It could have been an excellent healing experience for Warriors but was destroyed by greed and deception with clients suffering the most. Do not recommend.

Every time I call for employment information no one can answer my questions. All calls are transferred to voice mails and messages are never returned.

This place is amazing. The complaints in the reviews worried me. But the moment I arrived I was treated with the upmost care. Only weak people leave a treatment facility like this. This place saved my life and I was treated with dignity and respect throughout. I have my life back and that is what I went there for. Anybody you read on here that has anything bad to say is soft. This place can fix anyone WILLING to be vulnerable. Some adults never got told they couldn't be unicorns when they grew up and it shows.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Warriors Heart in Bandera, TX was the safest spot I could’ve landed when my life was burning down. I came in drowning in booze, broken from childhood abuse, combat PTSD, and straight rage. They gave me the tools to start building something solid out of all that wreckage. Biggest lesson for me was Ego. I thought I had one, maybe two. Nah, I had a fleet of them! All those past traumas twisting up and firing off as anger. Warriors Heart helped me see it, strip it down, and start putting in the real work. Most of the staff are real ones, and they show up every day with wisdom, patience, and love. It wasnt a magic fix. But it’s where the construction starts, new foundations can be started, and for me, that made all the difference. 🙏

I am currently a client at this facility and my experience thus far has been mediocre, to say the least. What started out as a program I was excited to be a part of, quickly became a significant let down. The program I am referring to is the Warrior's Heart Canine Program, who "certifies" "service canines" for Veteran's with PTSD and anxiety. Well, that's not exactly a true statement. Although you can leave here with a certified service dog, you definitely will not receive 120hrs of intensive training with your dog, which is required for your dog to be considered service trained. You will, in all actuality, receive about 60hrs with your dog and none of this is 1:1 training for your dog to be trained specifically to you. 40min/day is spent taking multiple dogs out to poop/pee and clean their kennels. The other 1.5hrs/day are spent basically teaching your dog to be obedient. I am no longer part of this program, as it is an embarrassment to the service dog community. I will not ask my friends and family to donate to a cause that is dishonest and misleading. This program takes advantage of vulnerable veterans in a crisis, teams them up with a dog, so they become very attached, takes $5k, with a $220 non-refundable application fee, and then sends them into the community without any specialized training at all. After 2wks of repeating the same exact tasks, I had to specifically ask the head trainer for my dog to be trained to recognize the symptoms of anxiety that I display. I was then quickly handed off to another client, not a trainer, who openly admitted that he is not trained to train other Vets and their canines. It is sad that this occurs so openly and maybe no one has questioned this as of yet. There are multiple newspaper and magazine articles regarding this program, which should be further investigated to learn the truth. I will reach out to them myself, as they may want to retract their statements. Other than the utter failure of the canine program, I will indeed leave this facility sober of 42 days and prepared to remain sober, while following a program of my choosing, one that resonates with me. I do thank my 1:1 clinicians for the assistance they have provided so that I am able to address both my substance abuse and the precursing trauma that got me here in the first place.

If you’re not military look elsewhere. When your chain of command and administration makes mistakes, man up and don’t bs the people looking for help. I was part of the group denied your exit pole. 9/11, have a nice day $.

I am just now posting this review because I finally beat my addiction demons on my own. I was at WH in 2015 and it was awesome I felt safe and at home. Vonnie was the best counselor I have ever had. We are still friends today because she truly cares. I have no complaints with W.H. then . Lisa and Kyle were there always available. I didn't want to go home, that says a lot about a great R.T.C. Fast forward to 2023, I returned to W.H. on my own because I was slowly killing myself. When I got there I was shocked at how many other clients were there. The food was bad, like cheap hospital food. My counselor was terrible, I never saw her enough and when I did I felt as if she was just checking the boxes. There were military clients there who were sent out of punishment or they needed to attend a rehab to claim a disability and retire. Since they didn't want to be there they caused major distractions for us that really needed help. Tom Spooner was in and out, he was the saving grace for several of us. If I could sum it up with all the drama and selfishness it was like a High School on steroids.

Great environment if you are a straight, white male… otherwise, maybe not ideal.
