This center is a structured sober living home in the Montrose area of Houston, Texas, serving adults 18+ in early recovery. Designed especially for LGBTQIA+ residents and allies, the home supports up to 20 residents in a safe, affirming environment. Clear house expectations, curfews, peer accountability, and routine drug and alcohol testing help protect sobriety and promote stability. Skills for Independence Residents move through a multi-phase recovery approach, stabilization, structure, growth, and transition, gaining responsibility and privileges as they progress. Many complete a 16-week Foundations curriculum focused on budgeting, relapse prevention, work readiness, and daily living skills. Weekly house meetings, SMART Recovery groups, and peer leadership opportunities strengthen accountability and connection. Clinical Support, Coordinated Care Optional individual and group therapy is available onsite or by telehealth through licensed clinicians. Light case management helps coordinate medical care, outpatient services, detox, day treatment, and medication-assisted treatment (MAT) clinics through formal referral partners. Discharge planning begins at intake, supporting smooth transitions to employment, continued care, and long-term housing stability.
