Serenity Mountain is a women’s treatment facility located in Northeastern Pennsylvania, offering partial hospitalization (PHP) and intensive outpatient programs (IOP) for women recovering from substance use disorders. The center sits on 21 acres of mountainous terrain, with breathtaking views overlooking three states. The facility boasts a range of amenities, including an Olympic-size pool, a chapel, a chef’s kitchen, pool and ping pong tables, workout equipment, and luxury beds in shared rooms with TVs and beautiful views. Electronics are approved after a blackout period based on the length of treatment. Serenity Mountain uses evidence-based therapies like cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), DBT, trauma counseling and groups, and relapse prevention. They also provide faith-based treatment, meditation/mindfulness, and holistic therapies. Serenity Mountain encourages clients to join the Celebrate Recovery Program, which is based on the principles of the Bible and the 12-Steps of AA and NA. Serenity Mountain also offers church services, prayer groups, and individual pastoral and spiritual counseling to support clients in their recovery journey.

Day Treatment

In a PHP, patients live at home but follow an intensive schedule of treatment. Most programs require you to be on-site for about 40 hours per week.

Intensive Outpatient Program

An intensive outpatient program (IOP) falls between inpatient care and traditional outpatient services, with therapy and skills-building activities designed to support recovery and provide flexibility. IOP is ideal for those needing support but not the 24/7 care of a residential facility.

Outpatient

Co-Occurring Mental Health

What a sham, they don't care about the women maybe they did at first, but this place isn't well ran anymore, the house manager is beyond rude,most staff isn't really in recovery and depending on how they feel they treat you differently, favorites get special privalages, it's very discouraging, the place is a joke seriously. I absolutely love Serenity Mountain and staff . It’s a beautiful place, very serene , and home like. It was the best experience I believe anyone could have going to a residential. There is none like this . We share our stories, we bond, we go on outings , we participate in events, bake, cook, meetings , Christian groups as well (your choice ). The staff is very patient, understanding and loving. We get to have our phones and family can visit. Whatever our desires and needs are ( even diet) they do our best to accommodate us. Being here has giving me the foundation I needed to come home. A founding I always wanted. I came home with ambitions and security. My feelings were more manageable and perception has changed . My relationship with myself and others has changed for the positive. My relationship with God everyday grows. And the best part we have alumni . We are always connected . A big huge Thank you !! ❤️

The house manager (Robin) does not follow a program and makes decisions without consulting with higher authority and clinical. She has double standards and is bias towards specific clients. She keeps clients who steal, scream at her with profanity, and are extremely aggressive. She does not have any conflict resolution skills. Unfortunately I was there for over 3 months and she kicked me out with no warning or explanation. I had less than a week left and had my coin out planned for a few days after. Due to her impulsivity and lack of grace, she made my time there unstable. Overall I am thankful for the opportunity to have been in the program, but leaving without saying my goodbyes changed my experience completely. SMRC can lay down the foundation for you, but Robin can strip that rug out from under you in a heartbeat and in the most heartless way.

Staff and counselors were patient and eager to help in any way possible. The house and land it's on, are beautiful and spacious. I attended serenity mountain for 4 months and I found my higher power on that mountain. The program there has one in one counseling and group programs. There is a beautiful chapel there that is a beautiful setting. The woman that work there are so dedicated and loving they give you there all. Everything you can ask for and it's all woman and the best is there is this beautiful dog Chloe that is the first to greet every woman and is an amazing loving dog who gives lives to each one of you . There is even an indoor pool is a resort like setting for sure I highly recommend this place I tell all my friend in recovery about it🙏❤️🙏❤️
