Nurses super nice, management picks favorites, so if they don’t like you they’ll restrict your phone time more than other people, they don’t do anything about sexual harassment. Good program, good therapists, good doctors and staff, terrible management.

I’d give zero stars if I could. This place is not the place if you have a family, it will destroy it. My daughter-in-law went to get help. Two weeks into the program she wants out of her relationship. We sent her to get help for the safety for her health and her family. But then she decided that she wants to end the relationship with no explanation why. So I’m seeing that they support tearing families apart vs. bringing them together and are not focusing on helping the individual in a healthy and positive way.

I've been to 11 treatment centers and detox facilities in Texas, and had a relapse while visiting California. I can say this was the best all around facility I've ever been to. Walking distance to the beach, great chef/food, comfortable beds, top notch nursing, and staff. Helped me out tremendously and I feel confident flying back to Texas sober...

I just had the honor and privilege of completing this program. I have been to other treatment facilities in the past and this one is hands-down the best I’ve been to!! I was treated with dignity while facing really hard truths about myself. I had life-changing trauma therapy with Dr. Angela Chantor and my life will never be the same. This facility really set me up for success and I will never forget the beautiful experience that I had there. The food was incredible. The kitchen staff was so friendly. The medical staff was patient with me while I was detoxing (and behaving terribly). I cannot say enough about this program. I highly, highly recommend New Start Recovery to anyone who is looking to do some hard work and change their life for the good.

Sierra Health + Wellness’ holistic approach to residential treatment program is amazing. The program is the complete package addressing physical (sobriety, medical, overall health), emotional (mental, social) and spiritual (giving room for true spiritual growth) concerns. By the hand of God, I had the honor of working with Dr. Chanter. I owe her a deep debt of gratitude - my life will never be the same again. Madelyn is also awesome. Every one of her group sessions or classes was informative and on the mark. The whole staff is truly engaged, supportive and caring. And I do mean the whole staff. The program gave me the opportunity to develop a strong foundation on which to build the next steps in my active recovery. Thanks to Sierra the best is yet to come for me …

AMAZING EXPERIENCE!!!!!!!!!, I have been to 6 facilities before this one. This is the first facility I really felt that they did not want to see my back as a patient, WOW! The focus was to heal the person first, mind and body, then fill you up with all the love,light,and tools you need to succeed. Thank You Sierra health and wellness!!!!

My stay at Sierra Health and Wellness was the most healing experience of my life. God forbid I need treatment again in the future, but if I did, I would have to go back here. The classes and structure provided helped me to keep a routine and develop new skills and norms to live by. It’s not just a place to keep you sober for a period of time. It’s a place that helps you to work through all of your deepest psychological difficulties, so you can feel comfortable staying sober for the long-haul. I had a spiritual awakening here and can now finally say I have a higher power, which has made the most tremendous difference in my satisfaction with life. I worked through traumatic experiences and memories and no longer need to hide from my feelings about them behind the curtains of drugs/alcohol. Specifically, in my case: mostly opioids. I used to be able to get myself sober(ish) on my own for up to a few weeks, but I couldnt keep myself sober and it certainly wasn’t comfortable. I had to grit through it, which always sucked. After staying at Sierra, I’m now capable of staying sober and being content with that. I no longer look forward to an escape from life in the form of pills because I enjoy facing life enough to face it on life’s terms. I am comfortable being sober. That’s the difference. I’m not just sober, but comfortable with staying this way. Something that felt unattainable to me for the longest time. I attained it here. The staff is fantastic. The therapists are highly skilled, as is the kitchen staff. You will get to try new foods and activities and therapies, including acupuncture, yoga, tai-chi, and best of all, frequent trips to the beach. All of which I found incredibly helpful for becoming more mindful, more spiritual, and for letting go of negative feelings and toxic impulses. I will always remember my stay here as one of my best and most important experiences. I will forever cherish the relationships and connections I made here. The group of clients was really cool and very diverse. We all keep in touch with each other in a group chat and on social media. Of course there can be little conflicts from time to time. We’re only human, and we’re all going through various stages of various difficulties. But at the end of the day, we stuck together as a group and supported each other through our recovery. It’s a very cool experience, and this is a great place to have such an experience. Highly, HIGHLY recommend!! You will not regret coming here. Anyone who claims otherwise… they were the problem. Not this place. Sierra is the perfect place to get yourself sober. Look no further.

I spent 37 days at sierra and it was the best thing I could’ve done with my life, I feel better then I’ve ever felt in a long time. The staff is great, the food is excellent and they give you most of the tools you need to extend your sober living for when you get out. The place is beautiful and very well kept, walks to the beach, museums, arcades, farmers markets and so on. Conversations here with other addicts is also what I needed as most of us have identical stories and trauma and along with good laughs. And for that I have life long sober friends from all over! If you’re in a spot in your life and unsure what to do or needing change then I highly suggest this place
