Southern Iowa Mental Health Center

I was under the care of Dr…., I only seen him via video of his New York home , as I set in his local office in iowa. It was like drive drive thru clinic for mental health. Sad, he got paid tho!

I called to make an appointment and told them I need to see a psychiatrist for med management as my previous one keeps missing work and canceling appointments. I told them I am pregnant when I called. I went to my appointment and 45 minutes later (after filling out redundant paperwork) they tell me that they dont prescribe to pregnant people. Like what? You guys coulda told me that before I wasted my gas and time. Ridiculous.

As I thought myself a little wiser, I fell into that same trap by trusting Southern Iowa Mental Health Services. As usual, the psychological community as a whole does not listen; is incapable of understanding nuances, and jumps to conclusions WITHOUT proper discussion or proper assessment. SIMHC will ruin your life if you say too much. In a weakened state I fell into that disgusting abyss of intellectual dishonesty, and trusted the perpetrators of that crime against the human psyche (the mind). I will NEVER trust SIMHC ever again. And please note: in this review I am demonstrating great restraint, and what little kindness I can possibly give to them. Should I ever need "support" again, I will seek it from a source that might not be kind, or polite, but at least honest, and not serpent tongued, and hypocritical. SIMHC essentially destroyed what little joy I might have had, not to mention the little bit of trust that I was foolish enough to have in others. Thank you.

I got told that I was seeking attention for not cutting the right way made me felt like that person was judging me or like pushing me to do it I forgot her name and there is this one lady Biola she's old and every time I was there on the second day she was already talking about discharging me made me felt like I wasn't welcomed more than once that happened to me

I was struggling with depression really bad and missed 3 appointments within 1 year and they put me on same day scheduling. This made it almost impossible to get the help I wanted/needed because my therapist was always booked and needed to schedule weeks in advance. I wanted to think that southern Iowa is a good place, but it is far from it, not to mention extremely overpriced and doesn’t take a lot healthcare options. But the therapist themselves aren’t terrible, just the business, there in it for the money, not the help.

I just called to your facility and hear girl say who talking to me say ambulance is here and I said you want me to let you go , ... yes.. so God bless I was fine and not suicide. Hope that person ok
