ThriveNow Recovery Center Pleasant Hill

I am not in the program I have a niece that I rolled as a inpatient. A week ago she seems to feel really comfortable and we both agreed on how nice the staff had treated us on our first time there. Me being a recovering addict going on 40 years was very impressed to actually see such a nice astablishnent that is here in the capital of Iowa that offers help for our young and old our city doesn't offer this unless you have been in trouble with the law and court ordered. Also takes a while to get into with a waiting list a mile long. We have alot of buildings here in the city empty that could be used for lots of programs as yours. Even help the homeless is in high demand. But I gave you 5 stars because this place to me is very nice and great location to me its a place where you can come in on your own and not have to get in trouble first with the law in order to get a bed. I'm looking forward to bringing my nephew to see his Mom on Saturdays we have had our first visit last Saturday and it was nice to be able to come and share this experience with her. So once again I would like to thank you Thrive for bringing an additional facility here in Pleasant Hill Ia. We will all be grateful to know there is a place for our loved ones and friends to come when the struggle is real and need the help. Jule

So I had relapsed recently an I called here to try an get back in well they are saying I said some stuff to a female staff member which I don't remember cuz I was coming down but they wanna hold that against me an not let me come back which I think is dumb cuz they aren't supposed to turn no addict away I could go out an commit suicide an blame it all on them cuz they didn't wanna help me when I called an asked for an asked for help never know what mite happen this weekend

I graduated August 13th- my experience was amazing to the detox staff thru have onsite nurses maitlyn was super awesome my favorite staff was sara forehle she related to my struggles and also Katie were amazing love them all!! Thank you

This place is by far the best treatment center I’ve ever been to in my life! I’ve struggled with addiction since I was 15 years old and am now 52! I’ve been to 5 other inpatient facilities and countless outpatient treatment centers! The staff is amazing, all recovering addicts themselves speak from experience not from what a book has told them!! Which makes it easier and gives them much more credibility for a person like myself! The director Molly helped me more in my time there than I think anyone ever has! She helped me get down to the core of why I am the way I am! She is excellence at it finest at her job!! Nobody has ever gotten me to open up like she has! Julie is all around awesomeness and dedicated to helping people in anyway she can! Erin is the big boss and she is one of the best in the recovery field that I’ve personally encountered and makes you feel truly heard! Along with the rest of the staff at this place you are genuinely taken care of and cared about, you’re not just a number or a paycheck here! If you’re looking for a place to go, and you truly want to change your life, this is the place to do It!!!

If it's your first or 10"+" times in a rehabilitation center; your goal and positive outcome is determined by what you put into it. My time at ThriveNow was my 2nd treatment center I have entered and hands down the best! The entire faculty, down to the dining attendants, are the most respectful, honest, open, realistic, and genuine fit for a person entering sobriety. My story up to ThriveNow is that my addiction took complete hold and to the end of it, finding myself in detox at my local hospital. I chose the evaluation of a Phycologist and was found emergent for treatment placement. I agreed to placement; however, I made it very clear, I would deny going to a hospital inpatient center and told for that choosing; as it is protocol, I would have to stay at the hospital or take the first placement. It was in my Higher Powers hands that Thrive had placement and accepted my application. Scared to take the steps to recovery, I barely could answer the intake questions. Falicia and all RSS staff and Nursing, stepped up right away ensuring me I made the right decision to enter any treatment facility and in honest, genuine words, said "we are glad you are here," something I have never encountered before. It was that next morning of my acceptance, gratefulness, and from staff support, that I was giving this time my all! If I may add, and an important need when you are the "newbie" is that the other peers welcomed me with a pleasant acknowledgement and again the words, "Glad you are here!" Today I am 102 days from my last drink, 10 years from any other substance; and by the giving and guidance from Thrive, as well as, my Higher Power, I am in the greatest place of my whole addictive life. Today I am maintaining my own recovery by being present in each moment, giving back to the person who still suffers or working on their sobriety, and doing service work in my fellowship to maintain and be accountable in my own recovery. I could not have done this without the positive power we all have inside us and help from a caring team. Thank you ThriveNow and congratulations on the opining of your Iowa City Center. My dad just graduated from here after a 15 year battle. He’s been to several treatment centers and this is the only one that made him feel human, worthy and like people cared. Our family has hope again and this is the first time I’ve seen him so positive. He didn’t have enough good things to say about the staff and facility. He felt like his life mattered and he wasn’t just a number. We got my dad back and owe it all to the staff here. They poured so much time, effort and love into him and his healing and we couldn’t be more thankful. He’s never been clean this long and his attitude is so positive and he truly believes in himself for once. His words? “It’s different when you know people care.”
