Their residential program aims to heal the mind, body, and spirit by addressing the underlying cause of addiction. Staffed by a team of experts, Spencer Recovery combines traditional talk therapy with holistic treatment options like golfing with a personal golf instructor, yoga, physical exercise, acupuncture, massage therapy, beach fitness, and so much more. With a plethora of extracurricular activities, clients will never get bored while in recovery. In addition to addiction recovery, licensed clinicians have extensive experience working with dual diagnosis clients and can provide the necessary therapeutic guidance to address any mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, panic disorders, and trauma. Clients will meet with their therapist 1-2 times per week for individual sessions as well as 12-Step meetings, exercise programs, and guided daily beach walks. Spencer Recovery provides high-quality treatment without sacrificing the comforts from home. The beautiful home sits atop a hill overlooking the Pacific Ocean. The home comes equipped with modern decor, gorgeous ocean views, an open kitchen, a pool, a spa, and private rooms with luxurious king and queen beds and a balcony overlooking the beach. Spencer Recovery is also pet-friendly, allowing clients to bring their furry family members to treatment. Spencer Recovery has been helping clients find freedom from addiction and mental health conditions for over 25 years.

It's the Hotel California turned into a den of idiots who cant handle their alcohol.Across the street from the Little Shrimp and the Boom Boom Room. Party central.

This sober living house is anything but. My daughter was put in a windowless room and it was 95 degrees inside. There were people openly carrying in alcohol into rooms. People also openly were doing cocaine. Remember, this is a “sober” living house. They simply did not check the rooms. All of this for only $900. They also would not return my deposit. When i tried to talk to Coty about this, she ignored my calls. Apparently after my complaints, they’ve now closed the sober living House and are turning into a treatment center. Right. I would avoid that entity at all costs!

I went here and we learned about recovery then went across the street to the the beach and played Frisbee etc. Great place to be. Used to skateboard down Laguna Beach.. Met The actor who plays Freddy Krueger on the beach. Cool dude.

This was where my life was destroyed. After having a psychological breakdown at the end of college, I ask for mental health help. Spencer Recovery lied to my parents about being dual diagnostic. When arriving patients were passing around vodka and it took staff over 4 hours to realize. This place is a majority heroin/meth inpatient rehab. Due to not exhibiting signs of addiction they took my prescribed valium and denied me a detox. This is where I developing a cigarette addiction as the first thing they do is give you free cigarettes without asking if you smoke or not. Within four days I had developed severe involuntary movement. When first called into the office by my counselor (ex addict who got hired by doing their program) I thought it might be concern, instead I was berated for not attending group due to the fact he doesn't get paid if I didn't. Without his heroin or money he couldn't control his emotions, AS A COUSELOR. While I tried to stay to prove my parents wrong, the nerve damage and pain was too much. The staff, Dr, and PA all ignored my concerns and it was actually the patients who told me I needed to leave. They didn't understand how someone was there for valium when they gave valium to everyone else. They have zero psychiatrists and zero psychologists as staff, only therapists that volunteer to come. After: my first seizure was about 4 months later and the severe seizure 10 months after. After that I was prescribed valium again and still take it today to deal with what Spencer's did to me. On my first seizure I met a different counselor handcuffed to a hospital bed in the ER with security. He said he would be back to work in two months and that was the minimum to get his job back, his intoxicated words not mine. Don't send anyone you love to this location if you expect them to still love you. My experience was awhile ago and I guess I only now have the confidence to admit I was even here.

I had a great experience at Spencer Recovery Center, in Laguna Beach. The staff was very professional, caring, and supportive. They helped me detox safely and comfortably, which I was very worried about coming off the drugs I was on(heroin/fentanyl), and provided me with individual and group therapy sessions that were very helpful. They offered medication-assisted opioid therapy, which helped me reduce my cravings and withdrawal symptoms. Being an opioid addict for 15 years I was terrified to get sober. Fear of Withdrawal was the only thing keeping from getting help for so long. All of the staff went above and beyond to make sure I had a solid foundation to start my sobriety journey. We attended outside 12 step meetings, where i found tons of people who really cared and understood what i was going through and helped me build a strong sober support system. The facility was clean, spacious, and well-equipped. The food was delicious and nutritious. I would highly recommend this center to anyone who is struggling with drug or alcohol addiction. I will forever be indebted to Matthew, John, Maria, Otis, and Mr. Spencer himself for showing me sobriety can and should be fun. It works if you work it and I've completely changed my life with their help.

Spencer's Recovery Center took me in during a rough time in my life and addiction. I am a military veteran that needed care quicker than the VA could provide, and Spencer's made it work. Through great admin staff, counselors, and medical team, I was able to get sober, and learn how to live and stay sober to begin my recovery journey. They also did a great job at integrating myself and other clients into society to build a recovery community and work a program. I highly recommend this place if you want the tools and resources to live an honest sober life in the "real world".
