Caution Advised – Lack of Transparency and Poor Coordination I attended the Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) at the Texas location, which is operated by a corporate organization based in Colorado. Unfortunately, my experience revealed significant issues with transparency, communication, and overall program management. At the time of enrollment, I was repeatedly told there would be no out-of-pocket costs for treatment. This information proved to be inaccurate. Near the end of my time in the program, I was informed—during a therapy session—that I owed a balance. Staff were unable to locate a functioning phone on-site, and I was eventually connected to the finance department in Colorado. During that call, I learned that my insurance information was not properly on file, despite my having attended the program for approximately two months. I was then informed that I was personally responsible for understanding my insurance coverage, including the fact that deductibles reset at the start of the new year, and that an additional deductible would be required before I could complete my remaining sessions. None of this was disclosed at the outset of treatment. This experience highlighted a serious disconnect between on-site staff and corporate operations. Additional concerns included inconsistent staff presence, insufficient food provided for participants between breakfast and lunch, and therapy sessions that often felt disorganized and uncomfortable. Based on my experience, I believe prospective patients should proceed with caution and explore alternative treatment options that offer clearer communication and more consistent care.

I can’t speak to the care provided, but the admissions staff member I spoke with was rude, talked over me, and refused to provide an alternate contact who could answer my question (that he couldn’t answer). I work in the field of addiction care and was shocked with the lack of care coordination efforts. I would not recommend this place.

Do you find yourself wondering where it all went wrong? Do you ask yourself how in the heck did I end up here? Do you find yourself just on autopilot aimlessly wondering around without any idea on how to address or fix what’s going on? If you are looking for answers to those questions, this place is definitely not for you. Why you ask? Grab a seat and let’s talk about it. Do you want to be stuck with a doctor that’s been “practicing” medication so long that he has become immune to the empathy behind the individual he’s prescribing medication for? Do you want to sit there aimlessly explaining until you’re blue in the face why it’s so difficult for you to get through the hurdles of OCD and PTSD logic that even you know isn’t normal? Would you like to have a doctor who aimlessly tries to sabotage your treatment everyday for the first two weeks you’re there threatening to kick you out because you’re “not treatment compliant” or you questioned why he’s trying to prescribe you things you are not comfortable taking? How about a doctor that tells you you’re delusional, and exhibiting symptoms of psychosis when there is no family history of having such? How about a doctor in which tells you you’re narcissistic because he’s assumed you voted for Donald Trump and exhibit the same narcissistic behaviors even though you’ve never brought up political conversations what so ever? I was threatened for the first two weeks everyday of being discharged, forced to sign behavioral contracts, forced into groups I wasn’t exactly keen on but went, but told I didn’t share enough. I also came down with pneumonia while I was there, and was still forced to go to groups, even after the emergency room doctor said two days rest. It was only after I protested and had them check paper work that I only got one day off from groups. MD. James Montgomery does not like to be questioned, and he does not have anyone’s best interest at heart. If you question him, he will take it personal, if you have an opinion, he will take it personal. Anything you say, can and will be used against you in the court of APN. He will utilize the clinical team at his discretion to bully you into submission. Carmen, Chris, Cherish, Austin, Alex, Deborah, Jerri, Lexi, and Katrina are all WONDERFUL people who care. They will be silenced if they stick up for you. If you have any ounce of respect for yourself, do not under any circumstances bring yourself here. Also, some of these reviews that are 5 stars are by employees, and not clients. Do with that what you will, but that’s definitely questionable practices to have your employees leave you reviews. Others that left reviews, I was here 33 days, I don’t see a single person that left a review that I know.
