Scary and truly inhumane.. nothing but a nightmare

My partner is a frequent patient at CBH, and they have done many wonderful things for them emotionally as they suffer from complex PTSD due to severe abuse and grief. I was in Warsaw the last two weeks when I received word from my sister that they ( my partner, whom I shall not name) was readmitted to the 3rd floor High Functioning Trauma Unit again on January 16th. I was concerned and very upset that I wasn't there in the States to be there with them but they reassured me that they were in good hands and receiving the best care possible in the Chicago area. My partner is a nonbinary individual and is repeatedly treated as a Male to Female transgender, which angers me, however I trust them to know what is best for their care and went along with my business in Poland in a rush to get back to Chicago early. On January 19th, 2026 between the hours of 9:30 am and 11:45 am, my partner was PHYSICALLY ASSAULTED in the 1st floor hallway by a "Nursing Director or Manager" known in the hospital as "Patty". (My research so far seems to name her as a Patricia "Patty" Ptak, and if I am wrong I do apologize) They were heading back to the unit from a group I presume that was held in the gym when this Patty lady deemed it appropriate to come up behind my partner (in front of 20+ patients and staff) and with her hand she SNATCHED their silk head scarf right off the top of my Partner's head. A head scarf that was approved by their attending psychiatrist and one that had been worn since intake four days before. This woman have the audacity to touch and snatch an article of clothing off of a mental health patient that suffers with extreme PTSD and trauma. Being in her position of supervisor she is well aware of the history of violence that my partner has endured. Furthermore, I was informed that she not only takes at least one item from my partner during each hospitalization but she also goes as far as to tell them that they are not "non-binary" and is a female. My partner respects this woman and has always tried to comply with her authoritarian rules and special regulations she bestows upon them specifically. The patient advocate, Albert, simply brushed it off as nothing while my partner was humiliated and set back in his recovery exponentially which we are in the process of stabilizing now. By law in the state of Illinois this is not only Assault but there was more than one case of negligence. I will not rest until justice is served and the Hospital takes full responsibility on behalf of this woman's actions and what it did to an already suffering individual that comes to them with complete trust that they will help and not further traumatiz them. This Place is Wonderful and the Therapist Ms Denise is a Great Help to Me and The Other People Who Attend Her Sessions

One of the worst environments I have ever been in. No guidance and no help through my stay. I had to request a social worker after 3 days of not being assigned one. They do not give you any information on your current situation and it creates a more stressful environment. The only thing they do is offer medications for any type of issues. Insurance. If you have any say in where your loved one is going, do not send them here.

Your dedication in helping manage her medical condition and finding the right medication to control her symptoms has made an enormous difference in her comfort and well‑being. We are especially grateful for the compassion and professionalism you showed during a very difficult time. Your guidance and support in helping us navigate the process from admission to securing a nursing home placement brought us tremendous relief. You eased the way for our family and ensured that her transition to continued monitoring and care was handled with understanding, dignity, and respect. I stayed at CBH a couple years ago and I still think about my stay till this day. My experience was obviously memorable & for that I am grateful. In a dark time, I was able to feel good and cared for all thanks to the staff. I was unwell but never felt neglected in fact I felt understood. The impact was so positive I like to remember the therapy I received that made me feel alive again. All thanks to expressive therapy. Eve was amazing at explaining and helping all in the room focus in the therapy to the point the worries became silent. I was exposed to expressive therapy & will never look back. Thank you Eve for your kindness and loving ways! She made my experience in such a dark place wonderful! Eve are the reason I recommend friends and family this hospital and I ever were to get sick again, I’ll choose CBH! Second time back from 2023. Honestly I wasn't admitted from my previous ideation I had 3 years ago but it was H/I instead. I understand that I was going through so much trauma myself from being a victim of C-PTSD and D/V myself. I feel like the outpatient staff who's in charge of IOP did an amazing job for reevaluating me during the holidays especially me struggling being a victim of abuse. I am in tears of joy, Again Thank you Skylar and Angel. My family is proud of the new me I've becaomed. Although being in the inpatient unit for 10 days wasn't the best on how I was treated by a selective of patients at 3 North and some staff. Compared to last time I am more mindful on how I am now. I used my coping mechanisms to control myself more then being rambunctious like my previous stays. Big shout to my Bible and Journaling. I also have some concerns I've been going to IOP for 3 weeks lately but me and my IOP host don't get along well. I do not feel secure at her group no more and I wish there was a way I can contact the hospital but as you can see I've been tight on bills and I was wondering if there's a way I can contact the outpatient program via email since my phone isn't on service or can I use my relative phone ?
