HealthPort - Salisbury

I'm not a patient but I give my cousin a ride up there. He is worried that leaving a negative review might have a negative impact on how his case is handled so I told him I would do it. He just found out that Healthport has been billing him for regular appointments and medication as usual, but his insurance was canceled 3 months ago. Somehow the insurance company and healthport both never told him it was canceled and continued billing so he now has over $4,500 in medical bills for 3 months of uninsured treatment. I'm no expert but it seems like they are understaffed over there. I like to give people the benefit of the doubt, but after all the stories I've heard, it's just so hard to tell.

I very badly want this to be five stars. I visited the Healthport building with a friend (I was their ride). I had my service dog with me. After talking to my friend, I decided to give them a try. I went there to fill out their paperwork (SD with me). My intake appointment (SD with me). My first therapy appointment (SD with me). It was after this appointment that I decided to change my regular therapist to them and had my other one discharge me. My next appointment was with a psychiatrist for my medications. My SD was with me. I was very happy with the therapist and psychiatrist. Not once during all these visits did anyone say anything about my service dog. I bring my friend there yesterday. I'm sitting in the waiting room and my service dog is laying at my feet. My psychiatrist comes up to me and tells me that emotional support animals are not allowed and he can't be there. I explain that he is a task trained service dog. She says that he has to have certification to be in the therapist's office. I politely explain that there is no certification per the ADA law regarding service dogs. She insists that he 1) needs certification and 2) that he is indeed an emotional support animal (keep in mind, I met this person ONCE). I again explain that there is no such thing as service dog certification and that he is task trained to assist me due to my disabilities. I asked her to have them email me their policy about this. As of writing this, I have yet to receive anything. Now, I either need to continue mental health at a place that obvious doesn't care about my mental health (after leaving the building, I had a panic attack and was shaking badly. My service dog had to bring me out of it and slow my heart rate-two of his tasks) or try to find a new therapist. What makes this all worse is that not five minutes prior to this whole ordeal, I was saying to my friend how much I love this place and how happy I am that I switched therapists.

Kristine Hickman does not care to listen to her patients. I ended up in the hospital just days after my appointment with here, wherein she refused to listen as I described my symptoms. Instead of addressing my symptoms and concerns, I was told I have Bipolar Disorder and I was just experiencing a manic episode which is unequivocally false. She does not bother to get to know her patients and their symptoms. It is safe to wonder whether she is getting a kick back of some kind due to the random medications she prescribes. I was told she was the second in command at this practice, so I would stay far away from her and any practitioners that work underneath her.

The "health doctors" at Healthport degrade my intelligence every time I go, I tell them what's going on with my health the doctor says there's nothing wrong with me it's all in my head every time I go I leave frustrated with nothing being done. It's time for a change of scenery.

I've only just started going here, I like the multi-service approach, now if they only had dental!
