Lake Jackson VA Clinic

The staff and doctors are all wonderful hard working people. They have always helped me with my husband's care. We've experienced nothing but kindness and professionalism at every visit and always left with the problem solved. I don't know how we would have managed without them.

I live this clinic. The staff are super nice and always remember your name.

This time everyone was on deck and appreciated my frustration with Medicare pay for my basic vaccinations. After being turned down( twice) by my chosen provider I received wonderful help with the Lake Jackson VA clinic who administered all the vaccines I was eligible to receive. So cool.

Sorry doc I tried to remember how it was actually spelt and not the phenetic spelling) took a whole hour helping navigate the VA system to help me get to where I need to go, or so we can figure out what is going on. He listened to everything I had to say and the X-rays were done in office the same day. Yes the VA as a whole is broken, but my experience today was positive and we can't have nice things at this clinic specifically if we don't let it known that this staff is getting it done. We have to make ourselves heard when it is good just as much as when it is bad. So thank you all for today!

The staff has been helpful in receiving necessary assistance. It takes time, but it worth pursuing. The VA has really improved through the years.

Almost everytime I call their front desk, I am greeted with just static and no operator. How am I supposed to make an appointment here when y'all don't offer online scheduling when your front desk operator's phone is inoperable? Or when your front desk operator seems like he doesn't know what he's doing? The very few times the front desk picked up, it was the same dude who seemed to either have a speech impairment or was very incompetent. He kept saying, "Uhh... hold on, let me see..." or, "Hmm... that doesn't seem right. Hold on..." for well over 10 minutes. Please update y'alls' archaic system to allow for online scheduling since the front desk operator seems incapable of doing his job and/or it's inoperable. UPDATE 17SEP2024: When I selected this location as my primary care facility, my first appointment was for labs. It did not go well. I asked how much blood she was taking out of me. When she told me how much (which is a lot for me when sitting up), I requested to have the reclining chair be reclined, have some ice put behind my neck, and have water on stand by in case I pass out... all of these requests were denied. I told the nurse that I was going to pass out. She told me that I wasn't and that it was all in my head. To compromise, I told her to just take my blood with me lying on the ground but she refused, so I just walked out, and later confirmed that I could just give them the bloodwork from another hospital. Bruh, literally every other medical facility I've had my blood drawn, I was able to have those requests of mine be granted without any protest. Idk why this facility doesn't allow those things. UPDATE 24SEP2024: Other than the issues first presented in this review, if you can find the time to actually come up here to do whatever you need to do, it's a decent location with an okay Doctor (mine is Dr. John) who make you feel heard and will properly address your issues, but I can't understand him over the phone. But I did eventually have to have blood drawn (since the paperwork I gave them wasn't everything they needed), but thankfully, two different nurses were able to have me reclined as they drew blood so I did not pass out. EDIT AS OF 01MAY2025: Ended up requesting a different PCP because I could not understand Dr. John over the phone due to his thick accent. But it's been well over 3 months since I requested a different PCP, and I'm still stuck with Dr. John. Considering moving to the Texas City or Houston VA Center. EDIT AS OF 23MAY2025: It's now been 4 months since my request of change of PCP. I have submitted a request to change my PCP TWICE now. And still nothing - I'm still stuck with that dude. Will be moving to Texas City or Houston for my VA care since this location cannot do their jobs.

My Father moved from Dallas 3 years ago to be closer to family. He has been going to the VA ever since then and has received the best of care. Dr. Jon listens to my father's needs and responds immediately. Administration and nursing staff are always accomadating and friendly.
