Updating my review after getting their copypaste response asking me to leave a comment. I left a separate comment a few months ago with IIRC 2 stars, but I was wrong in doing so. This place deserves one star and an audit from the APA. Your center embodies the worst of the American medical system. During my two-month tenure, I noticed how you were a major portion of a larger revolving door through which unwell children were sent into by a failing residential program, which they were pushed into by a well-intentioned parent or therapist. Your surveillance system is so irrational and aggressive—it's downright cartoonish. It's so bad that I am still in genuine disbelief at how a phlebotomist went into the wrong room (mine!) to take MY blood (without checking my ID or verbally confirming my identity with me) for another patient's labs. The other patient was a FALL RISK, guys. When I told my psychiatrist (unsure if naming him would constitute as defamation, so I'll keep it anonymous) that a person came in to take my blood, despite my labs being scheduled for the next day, he said I must have dreamt it. I just love it when my male psychiatrist gaslights me. This was the same guy who said me being lesbian was because I didn't have my father in my life. I'm curious—why the need for the cameras? Is it to instill a sense of being watched? To ensure perturbation in your patients? It makes sense if so. After all, students have their phone conversations monitored to a level that rivals the CIA. This is a very petty additional point, but, come on—you guys didn't even let me have my Nintendo DS with me! My mom came all the way from NYC to bring it to me. It only had Super Mario on it, for god's sake.

Although I had a pretty good experience, I don’t recommend coming here if you have ARFID or any other type of disordered eating outside of anorexia, bulimia, or orthorexia. Since I was there because I had trouble putting on weight after a period of severe GI issues, most of the group therapies did not resonate with me or do anything for me at all. I want to first say that Dr. Riaz is an amazing psychiatrist and cares deeply about his patients and their needs. I felt very comfortable with him and was confident that he would appropriately address my concerns. My treatment team was helpful when my GI issues came back and were willing to advocate for me, which I appreciated. However, I believe being on the eating disorder unit made it difficult for me to properly address or identify my GI issues there, despite being connected to a hospital, since my symptoms were many times blamed on anxiety or an eating disorder, which led me to leave. My treatment team was also kind of suspicious of me having anorexia despite knowing the reason for my stay, which was a bit frustrating even though I understand why they may have to be cautious. I had a great experience apart from this as I thought the food was delicious and met a lot of amazing staff and patients there.

after being in princeton for 2 months i will say i had an amazing time there. i will say that if your looking for full recovery mentally than im not sure if this is the best place to go considering all i really got help with was just gaining weight and being medically stable and i guess just having someone to talk to. all the staff were extremely funny nice and friendly i will say there was one night shift nurse that wasnt the nicest but overall everyone was great especially all the patients and MHA’s and some nurses. i think it was a bit annoying not being able to call best friends or any friend because some patients may use their friends as a coping skill or as like an emotional support system so i personally think that rule is odd. anyways i think this place is fun and great staff and will definitely help you restore weight. overall everything was great.

Your typical eating disorder recovery center. Rude staff and I got nothing out of the program.

I have applied to enter this program. I really hope that they will accept me. I am so afraid they will not because my luck is not to good when it comes to getting the help that I need. I just hope they will accept me

DO NOT GO HERE IF U HAVE ARFID!!!! I get that afrid is a newer eating disorder and people may not know about it. At least you should be considerate and help your patients. I put my daughter into this facility and that was the worst decision of my life. The nurses were mean and cranky. According to my daughter, the nurses would not comfort her when she cried. When I left her, my daughter was screaming crying and so was I. From her, she said as soon as I left, the nurses left her. That night, she wasn't allowed to call me because they didn't want her to melt down. Also that night, they were very confused about medicines and the night nurses suck. According to my daughter, the therapist saw her once out of 3 days. Same thing with the dietician. The MHA's were mean to her and seemed careless to me. I still don't get how you are not allowed to call and have a certain times to call home. Anyway, do not send your child there, and don't go if you have arfid or any seperation anxiety. Long story short, me and my husband removed her from this horrible place after 2 nights of torture for her , and us.

I put my daughter in this place for afrid. She was crying horribly when we left and nobody was here comforting her. Apparently, she was crying in her room for an hour and nobody came to check on her. Also, the nurses were super cranky and mean. The therapist is annoying. All my daughter did, according to her, was eat, and sleep. There was no activites and no methods for eating. This place was a nightmare. I ended up discharging her.

I absolutely believe this place helped me so so fun!! loved all the staff and everybody was so so nice and supportive although i did not like the night nurses but the therapists were a 10/10!! the mhas were amazing!
