Heads up!! This place does not exist!! My daughter was court ordered in to a Residential Treatment facility and received a letter of acceptance to the Costa Mesa facility. I also spoke with them and was amazed by the reviews and what the facility offered. On my daughter's acceptance letter there was the Costa Mesa letterhead and Orange County area code included. When it came time for her to go they state that they will book her flight 24 hours prior to her arrival. I called the number and the flight hadn't been booked but I was placed on hold while the reservation was being made. They came back on the line and said that she would be flying in to LAX and attending their Culver City detox. I informed them that she didn't need detox and that she needed to fly in to OC to attend the Costa Mesa facility, that's when things began to unravel. The person who I was speaking with turns out to be like a main switchboard telemarketer who isn't actually at any facility at all. He expressed shock that the Costa Mesa facility was still on their website as it had been closed for years and their only other facility is located in Jurupa Valley/Riverside and that's where she will be going. At this point there wasn't much I could do as my daughter was incarcerated and couldn't communicate with them and she was scheduled to be released the following morning to go directly to the rehab. She called me and I explained the situation to her but she was helpless as to do anything but go there. Unlike the photos on this website there were no snacks, fresh fruit or drinks for the residents so she called me and asked me to order some things off of Amazon for her which I did. Once her package had arrived I called the number given to see if she had recieved it, it was then that things went south rapidly and I realized that I was actually speaking with a telemarketer. I was told that he had no way of confirming that my daughter was there or if she had recieved her package due to "HIPPA Laws". I informed this person that I am her emergency contact and I knew that she had signed that waiver. After several minutes of arguing with this person he told me that the best he could do was to send a message to the facility and she "may or may not" return my call and hung up on me. At this point I was ready to call the police to go to the address given to do a welfare check on her but then recieved a call from JJ the counselor at the facility and he put my daughter on the phone with me. She expressed dismay over the situation that she was in but there wasn't anything she could do because they would not fly her home at their expense unless she completed 30 days there and she was extremely depressed. Her phone was taken away upon arrival and we had no other way to communicate. She had a court date over Zoom approaching and I needed to get a message to her as to how this would occur. The hearing was eventually delayed until the following month due to logistics. Once her 30 days were up they drove her to the airport and returned her home. Buyer Beware!!

I interviewed many places and chose Muse. Their medicated detox was touted as being very individualized and current. My son arrived on a Thursday evening. On Friday evening I received a call that my son was in considerable physical pain but doing fine otherwise. The next day (2 days after he arrived) I learned that NO MEDS at all had been prescribed yet for his "supervised, medicated detox." I spent the better part of the day trying to get them to have the detox medication administered to him but to no avail - just promises: "a couple of hours" - which he had been told when he checked in two days before. A "couple of hours" turned into 36, then 40 hours and I finally had to pick him up (at his insistence). I must say that outside of that ineptitude, he really liked the facility and the staff that he said was super open-minded and sensitive and understood why he needed to leave - it was beyond their control. So overall, probably great for residential treatment as long as you do not need medicated detox.

I worked for Sea Change Recovery for about 4 years before Bettersoul (aka Resurgence) took over the company. The company (owners Steve & Jamie) are extremely cheap from the food provided to the lack of maintenance of the homes and plenty of other financial things. They turned this place into a pump and dump to make as much money as possible before getting shut down which happened only a few months ago. They "allowed" some clients to continue getting high in our facility multiple times despite me providing concrete evidence and I eventually got terminated because I kept complaining about all the illegal & unethical things they were doing. They allowed a female client admit to the facility without being searched AT ALL because we only had male staff on site which they were 100% aware of but let her admit anyway. I thought she was dead on the floor when I came into work the following day but was luckily able to get her up. They basically held clients "hostage" whenever someone wanted to leave and wouldn't provide any help getting back home when they were out of state. Whether it be they just wanted to leave because they place sucked or if they had an emergency back home like a family member in the hospital. There was a sexual assault incident between 2 clients that they didn't handle. They allowed the client to stay and after a week of constantly complaining they finally gave me the okay to transfer him out. As I said they are very cheap so we were understaffed majority of the time and when we did get new hires they either quit because it sucked or they got high on the job. One employee in particular was allegedly housing and sleeping with a former client of ours from a few months prior and when management was notified they "investigated" then continued to let him work there. These people do not know how to run a business nor do they actually care about the clients at all. Some clients waited 3-5 days before receiving any medications.

I love this place I'm from Alabama and this is the best rehab there is

i was at the madison location april - may of this year. all the techs were nice crystal the therapist was rude and joked about my trauma to my face. hopefully she got in trouble. it was a decent experience before that happened.

I would recommend this place to everyone I know. This is the best treatment experience I have ever had. I was treated like family and all the staff was caring and amazing. I was able to work on myself from the inside out. I love Resurgence.
