I was a patient at the detox recently and this is the absolute last place you would want to send your loved one to get help. The staff not only lack compassion and respect for the patients, but there was a nurse named crystal who worked at the house I was at and she legitimately made fun of me for how many relapses I’ve had in the past and made me feel embarrassed and like a waste of resources. The admissions team and staff were caught in many lies and I also had missing property when I left. When you come into detox you are at a very low place in your life and working in a detox you should be caring and supportive and made to feel like you are understood and not judged, this place and their staff did the opposite.

South Coast has amazing and caring staff, from leadership to the houses they are all the best. They make my son feel at home and take excellent care of him. Thank you! (especially Katie)

South Coast has saved my life and my marriage! The staff is amazing from the very beginning. Everyone treats the clients with respect and goes above and beyond to truly understand clients’ needs and story. Nicole was my case manager and did an amazing job making sure all my needs were met! She is constantly working to make sure all of her clients get the tools they need to successfully get sober. Melissa was my therapist and was also amazing. You can tell she truly cares about you as a person and wants the best for you. Her sessions always leave you in a good mood with feelings of growth and happiness. The first person I met when I went into detox was Ian and he was the happiest person I’ve ever met and immediately made me feel comfortable and that I had made the right choice in my program decision. Jose was my first nurse and I had and he does an incredible job while he gets to know you as a person and has a lot of respect and care for all of his patients. The whole staff at detox was incredible, respectful and personal. Derrick was the first person I met when I moved to RTC and he has to be one of the best employees at SCBH. He uses his recovery and new found love for people to go above and beyond for all the clients. There are multiple different groups to do throughout the day and weekend outings including whale watching and beach trips to keep you busy. All-in-all the entire staff at SCBH are loving and caring people that truly want the best for you and will go out of their way to make sure your needs are met and you are set up for success during your recovery. I strongly recommend SCBH.
