My son just completed a 30 day program at SoCal Sunrise and we could not be more pleased. Andrew, Shannon and Ally as well as all of the staff were incredibly kind, patient and supportive. The entire team is vested in the recovery of their residents and encouragement is given every step. If my son had a rough day, one of the staff members was right along side to motivate my son to keep going. He felt supported and heard, I am so grateful to this team. Highly recommend for anyone or a loved one who needs this type of program. Thank you thank you!

My son was at this facility for about 45 days and discharged recently. The staff were kind and efficient and took care of everything he needed on time. Specially, Andrew (project manager) and Shannon (case worker) tried to find a right place very hard as a aftercare program for my son even though it passed over scheduled discharging date. They were responsible and reliable. Thanks for your work ! Andrew and Shannon !!

This is the worst place ever. How’re they still in business?

this place is very low budget and the staff are extremely inexperienced and unhelpful. they have no idea what they’re doing over there.

TLDR: Avoid at all costs. Promised mental health care was completely absent during my 48-hour stay, marked by negligence and unprofessionalism. Initial Expectations: I sought help for panic attacks, agoraphobia, and generalized anxiety disorder. The intake process seemed promising, with assurances of regular therapy, meals, experienced staff, and a structured schedule. Unfortunately, these promises were unmet. Arrival: Contrary to promises, no psychiatrist or case manager welcomed me. Instead, I faced disorganization and a triggering environment reeking of tobacco smoke. Staff and Environment: The staff, termed "techs," lacked medical training and were primarily tasked with basic monitoring and meal preparation. The promised group therapy sessions never happened. The staff's unprofessional behavior included constant phone use, internal conflicts, derogatory remarks about residents, and ignorance about conditions like agoraphobia. Location and Living Conditions: The Sabina location was substandard. The house was dirty, with inadequate facilities like threadbare towels, limited hot water, and pervasive smoke odor. The only entertainment was a TV with limited access, and the house was under constant surveillance, except in private areas. Resident Demographics: The residents were primarily state-ordered ex-convicts, contributing to an uncomfortable atmosphere. The lack of activities and social engagement left me feeling isolated and anxious. Food: Despite promises of three daily meals, food availability was scarce, and staff reluctance in meal preparation was evident. The lack of basic kitchenware further complicated matters. Therapy: I did not meet my assigned therapist. An encounter with another therapist, albeit helpful, revealed that the promised frequency of therapy sessions was overstated. Sleep Quality: Frequent checks by staff using flashlights disrupted sleep, compounded by uncomfortable bedding and unclean rooms. Conclusion: My experience at Socal Sunrise was distressingly far from what was promised. The facility's approach to mental health care was severely lacking, characterized by an unprofessional staff, poor living conditions, and a complete disregard for client wellbeing. I strongly advise against this facility based on my experience.

I do not recommend this facility for any service other than detox. If you're seeking a detox/rtc program with stimulating and engaging groups provided by educated and experienced facilitators, please - look elsewhere. I greatly implore you not pursue any service here other than a 7-10 day detox. While the house staff genuinely cares about you and your well being on the deepest level, they lack proper funding on providing group facilitators. During my 16 day stay, I can count on one hand how many groups were conducted by an educated/experienced therapist/facilitator. If you're content with recycling the same template during groups everyday or being guided by an underpaid/underqualified 21 year old who lacks the ability to reciprocate on a deeper emotional level, this is not for you. I stressed my concerns my first week and was promised it'd get better; it did not. In fact, it got worse. My last five days at this facility were gravely concerning. It was a three day holiday weekend so no groups were scheduled during the day during that time. By the fourth day, we only received 'guidance' from the underpaid/underqualified 21 year old I stressed earlier. By my fifth day, I knew my time was not being valued here. If you're serious about staying sober and want the best emotional development/growth/healing, please look elsewhere. They do not delegate funding to provide for you. My fifth day was ridiculously rough given I had to fight tooth and nail and ultimately left against medical advisement. I'm sorry, but my time and money is much too valuable to me at this stage in my life. I know what I should be experiencing in groups and you folks failed tremendously. If not for the caring/compassionate staff, namely Nick, Lucas, Michael, Dave, Cassandra, Chris, Juliet, Megan; my time would've been horrendous. The above mentioned-by-name staff absolutely has your best interest in mind but again, they're underpaid. They're there FOR YOU. Not to make a living or become successful. They genuinely are giving their time and taking a pay cut to help those that were like them once. That's why I can recommend this for detox but not an inch more. Finally, when I left against medical advisement, they will manipulate your loved ones into telling you to stay without being able to convey the full scope of things. The trauma my girlfriend and I endured that day has me resenting this facility to the black gates of hell. A big **** YOU to Chad. Stop depriving your clients of the mental health assistance they deserve just so you can run your business leanly. Big **** you to Thomas and Katie for leveraging my loved ones into manipulating me to stay without voicing my justifiable concerns. Big **** you for changing visitation policy one week after my admittance. Ben, a big **** you to you too, buddy. You arrogant rude p****. I truly resent this facility and my discharge day is the most traumatic day I've had in well over a year. Please choose your treatment wisely, fellow addicts.

My 24 days of staying at the Mental Health house was good and bad. Most staff knew how to take good care, talk, and set groups since they've sympathized or went through similar things. I got my help in seeing me for me and working on my self esteem. The down side was the fact that the owner, Ocea (I think that's now you spell her name), yelled at a client. She said (I'm paraphrasing) "it's your fault why your meds didn't come in" and "I shouldn't have a client speak to me that way". I don't think she is qualified to run a company that specializes in mental health and substance abuse, if she talks to a client that way. Best treatment for people who are recovering from addiction and trauma. It's helped me, sadly didn't help some of my room/housemates.

I was discharged from SoCal Sunrise two days ago after my 4 and a half week stay in the womens mental health house. I have so many good things to say about this facility. The staff made my stay such a great experience. Raze (Rose) is the most gentle and sweetest soul you’ll ever meet. She has the glow and warmth of the sun and puts her all into being a wonderful support. Anyone would be lucky to meet her at any point in their life. Amanda (the case manager) is such a sweet being. She’s wonderful at her job and a wonderful friend while I was there. She takes her job seriously and does everything in her power to help put you on the right track for after treatment. Mina is like a second mother- she cooks wonderful delicious dinners and creates joy in the house every night she’s there. I have so many more I could name- Alina, K, Anothony- the list goes on and on. Thank you to everyone for guiding me on my journey through treatment. I highly recommend anyone to this facility.
