I am so grateful for all of the support I had in labor and delivery and mother and baby sections of the hospitals. I want to shout out specifically the awesome nurses (Kyle!!, Julie, Annie and everyone else) for making my experience everything and more, and the awesome pharmacist that went out of their way to pick up my prescription from a nearby store. I truly felt like family being there. Thank you to all of the staff for being my support. I hope you all get a well deserved raise and a nice vacation because it is well deserved. I’ll never forget my experience because of all of you, and it will forever be one of my favorite memories that I will always cherish. I am so happy that I decided to go to Swedes for my experience.

God awful hospital me and my husband were waiting in the waiting room for 7 hours after he had just had a seizure and I asked the lady at the desk how long she thought it would be till we got seen and she said it could be up to 12 hours, also there was a older guy in the waiting room covered in blood screaming for help and 3 hours later he just dropped dead and a janitor came out and threw a tarp over him and just left him there. This hospital might be from hell, you got to this hospital to die and then just be left to rot on the floor. If I could I would give this place -10 stars.

Terrible experience overall. Pre-op care and communication were good, and the surgeon was excellent. Unfortunately, care on the 10th floor orthopedic unit was unacceptable. The call light was not plugged in, so no one responded while my mother was in pain and her IV pump was beeping for over 45 minutes. Staff demonstrated poor understanding of post–hip replacement protocols. There was no bedside commode or toilet riser, and the toilet was so small that she had to place her walker in the shower just to sit down, which is completely inappropriate for a new hip replacement patient. A nurse attempted to cross her legs post–hip replacement, which could have dislocated her new hip. There was no education provided on pain management or education period. At discharge, a nurse stated that Mobic was an antibiotic, which is alarming. PT and OT staff were good and were equally frustrated by the lack of basic equipment and utilization of post hip replacement protocols. I am a nurse with over 14 years of experience and a former employee of this hospital. I am disgusted by the care my mother received and could not get her discharged fast enough. This raises serious concerns about staff competency and patient care on this unit.

The worst experience of my life, I’ve never been treated so badly by day shift specifically. The doctor was horrible. I came in with the flu and diabetic complications making it known I haven’t ate in the last 2 days because of how sick I am. They told me after being admitted in the middle of of the night that I can eat breakfast, I quite literally get woken up to a man in my face asking me a million questions that I’m barely conscious enough to give answers to, he then proceeded to tell me that I can’t eat and that waiting for a few hours isn’t going to kill me and that it’s basically my fault that my diabetes had complications as if any sickness doesn’t throw it off. After being told that I still couldn’t eat I checked myself out AMA

I had the worst labor experience here. Most Nurses in labor and delivery need a refresher on patient rights. The worst part was when the midwife, student, and L and D nurse broke my water, they weren’t paying attention and ripped the epidural out of the portal on my shoulder. Then to cover their own butts they lied and said I must’ve done it at some point while repositioning myself. Except right before they broke my water at about 9:15 am, I pressed the button and had a successful epidural dose that I felt go down my back. And the portal disconnect was noticed directly after. Great accountability there. Then when I had the 2nd epidural it didn’t work. I repeatedly told the nurse it didn’t work and she told me I was feeling pressure not pain. Even though I had JUST had a successful epidural and knew what it was supposed to feel like. I asked for an alternate pain management and she said no. This was at 11 am and I could’ve definitely had the epidural removed and gone with something else as I entered active labor after 1pm. I called her when I was 9cm around 3pm and she said “call me when you feel pressure” and went back out to the nurses station. I began screaming from the pain and was scolded for screaming. During active labor she refused to reposition me even though I only agreed to the epidural on the grounds that I wouldn’t be stuck flat on my back. So either I was lied to when getting the epidural or I was lied to during active labor. I also had to argue to have my catheter removed during active labor. Once up in mom and baby the experience was good, but truly I think I’d have been better off giving birth in my bathtub. Patients are allowed to have a say in their care regardless of how inconvenient it is for staff. I did however have 2 excellent nurses in L and D. I asked for their last names for the daisy award but no one got back to me. They were attentive and informative, and helped me even when it was inconvenient. This isn’t the first time I’ve had an experience with this hospital in which staff was resistant to answering questions about care. Heed the other reviews well because many staff members seem to take questions as attacks.

They broke hipaa policy, they poorly care for there mental patients. They use your emotions angianst you. They don’t listen to outpatient psych recommendations. They take advantage of you.

It was the most horrible experience I ever had in a hospital we sat there for 9 hours when did they did come out no x-ray no ultrasound didn't tell us what was wrong with with the patient nothing we came in there cuz my boyfriend had pain to his side sat there for 9 hours they did blood work AKG no ultrasound to see if you have liver issue kidney issues nothing they sent him home with some medication not telling him the results nothing. One thing that really shocked me was a women come in yelling for help her husband was having a heart attack and they told her to grab a wheel chair. What kind of hospital is this
