The Arrow House - Teen Treatment

We were terrified to let our 12 yr old trans son stay at a treatment center for so many reasons. But our kid needed a tremendous amount of help after he was in the hospital. We are so grateful for The Arrow House!! I think given the circumstances and where he is now, it is the best possible outcome. Our Son was there for a little over 2 months and is doing SO well now!! After The Arrow House He went to Newport Academy for 2.5 months part time outpatient and it was a great transition for him! We are currently in therapy once a week with The Help group. - they are great too. They have a therapist, psychiatrist, and parent advocate I meet with once a week. It’s been 5 months since he stayed there. Our kid was getting straight A’s there for a while! We have a family meeting every week on Sundays to discuss as how things are going and implement rules or change things. This is really helpful because we have two households. We are so grateful for the Team at The Arrow House. There’s no way we could have gotten here without them!! I feel like we have our kid back! I joined the PTA and am more involved in school, and I help with the bake sales. I’m trying to get our kid involved too - lol Of course there have been hard days- but it’s so much better than before!! 😍😍🥹

So I was here 30 years ago. (1994) Touchstones. This place changed my life at the time. Love to see all the positive reviews on here, and to know this same place is still helping young adults achieve better lives.

The staff are dedicated, professional and caring.

The Arrow House truly helped not 1, but 2 of my kids heal and come to a place of recovery. Their approach of looking at the family unit versus just the young person in treatment has given me and my family hope and the tools nessesary to rebuild the love and trust that we have for one another. Their entire team, from admissions through administration, through the family and individual therapists, the educational team, and can not count out the amazing Community Mentors and the chef all have supported me and my kiddos on the road to recovery! I forever will feel in debt to their amazing team and to the care they have given us!

This place is pretty amazing. They actually care about the kids and the success of their recovery. My daughter felt very safe there which was most important. Of course, she had many complaints because she is 14 but they were all normal things like rules and structure. I found everything about their process pretty amazing. I loved the family involvement and family counseling that is provided. The only reason I didn't give five starts is because of my daughter's family therapist. A woman named Cat. I could see that she really cared for my daughter and that was a positive. Unfortunately, she had some kind of an issue with me. She shamed me for not attending every single Saturday class because some Saturdays I have work. I'm a single mother. Although my child's father is very much in her life, the family therapist never reached out to him and asked him to attend any of the classes or groups. She certainly didn't shame him for missing any, being that she never even thought to ask him. My mother filled in on the weekends when I had work. I had to reschedule (not cancel, just moved to different day/time) due to unavoidable things. Cat told me that I was basically telling my daughter that I don't care about her if I have to reschedule a meeting with them. Ideally, I would love to be at every single one but that just was not possible. On several occasions, she said extremely negative things about me TO MY 14YR OLD DAUGHTER, which my daughter later told me about. She told Alyssa that she deserves a mom who shows up for her. Which is 100% true. And she HAS ONE. Unfortunately I also have to work to afford to support her as I don't get any child support. I was extremely disappointed in her inappropriate comments to both me and my daughter. Her opinion of me was not very high and she made that clear to me and my daughter. Learning to navigate a relationship with a teen who has substance abuse disorder is very difficult for a parent as anyone reading this review already knows. For a therapist to make negative comments about a parent to a child is unprofessional and unethical and ultimately makes the process more difficult for both parent and child. Everything else about the experience was great for both me and my daughter. All of the other staff were kind, communicative and liked by most of the residents and families. My daughter is in a much better place than before she entered treatment. I would recommend this place to any family struggling with an adolescent with mental health issues or substance abuse issues. This place really helped me to better myself

Emily and her staff were amazing to work with. We did a big painting project at the Arrow House. The facility was really nice and well maintained. They take a lot of pride in their facility and their commitment to working with others.

I love what Arrow has done for my family and I, I was here from February to June of 2023 and since then I've achieved a year of sobriety. The staff really cared about me and were always willing to help. I've made so many great connections since I've been there, can't recommend Arrow enough!!
