Our experience with the outpatient program has been absolutely horrible. They have been disorganized, apathetic and lazy in their treatment. A loved one began here in August. Since then, he has had three different counselors, every time they switched they had the excuse that they were "reorganizing" staff. They said the program would include "group, individual and family counseling". There have been a total of maybe five actual individual counseling sessions in 5 months, when he was attending 9 hours per week. Now he has a "permanent" counselor, yet all this counselor does is have him watch videos and do group sessions - with OTHER counselors! This is not helpful to identifying his issues behind addiction and fixing these issues. Also, they have never, ever asked or encouraged him to have a family counseling session, even towards the end of the program. I've asked others. That is highly abnormal and not good practice. In addition, we did not find this out until he was already enrolled, but it's all virtual. He has never seen any of these people in person, ever. To top it all off, they unceremoniously sent him an email saying that he has reached the number of sessions required to complete the program, so he's done. And nothing has been fixed. There was no assessment of him at the end of the program, no session with us as his family. Absolutely nothing. I'm not at all surprised they have such a high failure rate with this type of care. Several people in his program group passed away in the duration of the program - either from overdose or suicide. What they're doing, what they're calling a "treatment program" is incredibly irresponsible and most likely is costing lives. My loved one will be moving on to another counselor.
