I was in treatment at Cedar Oaks from August-October 2024 due to 30+ years of mental health and substance abuse issues and I have to say that Cedar Oaks is my lifesaver! The peaceful wooded magical-ness and camp-like feel of the place and its healing vibes was a blessing. I couldn’t believe something like this existed! From the first moment I made contact with Cedar Oaks I was carried through the process by the ever patient Brooke. Brooke-thank you for “holding my hand” through the entire process up until walking through the doors, you helped me through one of the hardest times in my life and you made me feel seen, heard and like I wasn’t a burden, even with all of my questions and texts. Thank you to all the staff: nurses, therapists, counselors, RA’s, chefs, maintenance, administrators, admissions, and everyone else that helps make this place possible, such as the continuing care/follow up team-thank you for your check-ins and words of encouragement- especially Gabriella, thank you Gabriella! I’m sure you were busy but you didn’t make me feel that way. And a HUGE shout out to Valeri, Stacie, DeeDee and AJ-you ladies are rock stars and each one of you changed my life, I will never forget you; you do the work of angels, truly. Cedar Oaks is a place I look back on fondly; from the personalized care, the nightly bonfires, all the tie-dyeing and bracelet making I could do, to the cherished bonds/life-long friendships I made along the way AND especially the difference in my overall health and well being! The tools I’ve learned will last a lifetime. You all have a special place in my heart and I will never forget my time here. I am forever grateful and appreciate you all 💗

I would highly recommend Cedar Oaks. I struggle with alcohol and finally made the very scary and hard decision to go to inpatient treatment. I started with detox and the nurses and the rooms were Amazing. They made me so comfortable. Then I switched to residential treatment, which I was so scared to do being such an introvert but the counselors talked with me and listened and I decided to stay. I'm so glad I did. The group counselors were great and it was so Educational and fun. I also extremely loved Stacey who was my personal counselor. She helped me so much, was so compassionate, had empathy and really helped me see things from different perspectives. She was Awesome! Also, the food was Amazing and the RA's were so nice. I want to add a special compliment to the the RA Brent. I had to go to the doctor and it was about an hour there and back. I was nervous being in a car with someone I barely knew but we had some nice conversation and he was so easy going and kind. For someone like me that meant so much. It's such a beautiful place too, unfortunately I was there during the massive snow storm and couldn't enjoy the outdoors as much as I would have liked but still incredibly calming and beautiful. Thank you All for making my stay wonderful! I'm still sober and that is partly due to Cedar Oaks and their amazing program.

Choosing Cedar Oaks was the best decision I made when I reached my breaking point. They not only provided essential support during a difficult time but also equipped me with the tools and skills to embrace my authentic self. It has been approximately eight months since leaving Cedar Oaks, and I am proud to say I am maintaining a HAPPY and sober life. I am truly grateful for this experience. Thank you. Thank you. Had a horrible experience. No accountability whatsoever literally told someone they could smoke when they weren’t on campus. The intake coordinator didn’t fill out any of my paperwork for fmla or short term disability. A counselor read my file and acted like she knew my story by reading a file. The only ones who cared was Dede, Lindsay, and Jess the rest had no clue what they were doing. If u struggle with only mental health it’s a good spot but if your struggling with drug addiction it’s not for you.

So incredibly thankful for this place, absolutely saved a family member of ours and brought them back the best version of themselves. After hunting down the best facility (because it’s not easy) I am so grateful we chose cedar oaks, truly the best. And all the staff and nurses were so kind to always take our calls and chat with us whenever. Thank you!

John Lyons and the team at Cedar are truly amazing!!!! My daughter struggled with drug use her entire teens and into early adulthood and when she finally decided to go to rehab the mama bear in me wanted her close to home. After researching rehabs in the Ohio area we toured cedar oaks and decided that it was the best fit. John stayed in contact with me her entire stay and gave updates on my daughters progress and for that I am so thankful. It gave me such piece of mind to know the people looking after her truly cared. My girl is healthy and clean and this mama could not be prouder

My husband attended Cedar Oaks in May of 2024 and we had the absolute best experience with the facility and staff! I thought there was no hope in him recovering from his alcoholism and now he has over a year sober! Literally from the first phone call I knew this was going to be good for not only him but for our family. They provided such great insight into the addiction process because this isn’t something I’d ever thought I’d experience as a partner and even offered family therapy sessions which I attended via phone as we are out of state. My husband is not the same man I watched get on the plane to treatment and I truly owe that to Cedar Oaks.

CEDAR OAKS SAVED MY LIFE!!!! I’ve struggled with a heroine and fentanyl addiction for 10 years and have been through upwards of 80+ rehab stints. God willing after attending Cedar Oaks I will celebrate 1 year of continuous sobriety in a few days. I’d never made it past 60 days in the past. Huge shoutout to John Lyons for his dedication to helping his clients and for going above and beyond to make sure I got the personalized treatment I needed to be successful in my recovery. He was a god send!!! That man truly believes in his facility and was there to help with any request and reservation I had during my stay. He even personally invites me to every alumni event they have and I’ll definitely be attending one day (I’m a PA resident so I’d have to travel) but it’d be so worth it. The nursing staff was so loving and helpful throughout the detox process and the clinical staff led groups that were fully engaging and interesting rather than just the typical relapse prevention groups I was used to. I will always recommend Cedar to any addict struggling and cannot thank them enough for helping me take my life back
