I had a great time here all the staff were so kind

My teen went to Newport from May to July of this year. Was in a pretty rough spot at that time in their life and was transferred from the University of Utah Inpatient to Newport Residential. We had been through both residential and impatient mental-treatment centers before. Overall, most experiences have been good. I have to say that Newport is exceptional. The intake team and staff were very on the ball and accommodating. They work well with different situations and have people that are well versed, trained and educated to work with a lot of different angles that they get from teens that go there. They have a good balance of programs; educational along with activities and counseling. They have a lot of good activities for the teens, which include the out-doors. They give options for kids to do productive and constructive things in their down time, which they can choose, including just relaxing. It's all well structured and always supervised. They have good meals as well. I appreciate that, where desired by parents of teens at the facility, the staff at Newport is not afraid to mention God and faith. My teen isn't personally drawn drawn to Christianity, but isn't antagonistic to it. It helped that the staff was kind and on occasion, mentioned Christian principles that helped warm my child up to it more. Newport does have worship services, which my teen didn't attend, but their approach helped. Again, if my teen didn't want to participate or discuss anything of a religious nature, it was never forced. Great place and great people.

You all saved my son's life. He was on a mission to kill himself. He absolutely gave up on life. He spent just under 65 days there and his whole way of thinking has changed for the better. You have re- built his confidence. You made him feel safe. You where patient and willing to give him time. Stuff has come out I had no clue that has happened to my son. His whole life i tried hard to protect him but it still happened. Thank you for hanging in there with Riley. He has so much respect for the adults at this facility. Thank thank thank for saving his life!!!!

Great experience. I lived there as a patient in Rose Pod and the kids were dumb but staff were AOK.

Thank you to Newport Academy Oakley for the amazing care they've given our 17 y/o daughter over the past several months. Regular and thorough updates from the educators and residence staff helped us have confidence in the facility while she was many states away from home. A special thanks to Brooke Fandrich for being so attentive and providing for her medical needs. An unmeasurable amount of gratitude goes to Clinical Director Leigh Uhlenkott for consistently going above and beyond to deliver a high standard of care and for maintaining open channels of communication. Interacting with Ms. Uhlenkott gave me peace of mind that our daughter was in good hands and exactly where she needed to be.

Sending our daughter to Newport Academy-Utah, was the hardest decision we had to make, yet it was the best decision we could've made. Our daughter stayed at Oakley for approx. 60 days and the level of care that she received was exceptional! Her care team (Andria, Brooke, Amanda, Felicia, Jose, Aleene) were very professional, knowledgeable and it was a pleasure working with them. We were impressed with how well the team communicated with us. We were always able to get in touch with our daughter's team, and provided timely responses/updates. The nursing team and residential staff were also great and communicated well with us. It was comforting to know that even though our daughter was over 1,000 miles away, she was safe and in good hands. Overall, Newport Academy offers a great program and we were blessed to have a caring team working with our daughter and us. We also liked that the program offered a variety of therapy and experiences for the kids, i.e.) equine therapy, skiing, ice skating, and countless other activities. Also, the parent support groups that Newport offers were very helpful, and a great resource.

We finally found the right Treatment Center for our lovely young daughter. Very professional, communicative and caring staff. I am very pleased with the results and the progress my daughter made during her treatment. I would most certainly recommend Newport Academy Utah for youngsters who are in need of professional help. More specifically, Ms. Leigh Uhlenkott, who was instrumental in the process of treatment and counseling. Great work👍👍👍

My experience at Newport was very helpful for me. I was going down a bad path and when I first got there I didn’t want to do anything at all like while I was there I never did the school. But I would participate in everything else and I eventually started to open up a lot with the therapy and got everything out it help a lot. I learned how to manage my impulses and learn coping mechanisms. I’m now a college student going down a great path to do great tunings in the world!
