This treatment process has been so helpful. After trying so many other things, this has finally given me tools to live a more fulfilling life. I’m grateful to have gone through the program.
My life is changed for the better because of this place. I am so grateful for all the BHTs + therapists, everyone has been so supportive and great the whole way.
Treatment truly changed my life! I highly recommend it
My experience at the OCD and Anxiety Center in Bountiful, has been nothing short of amazing. I have GAD, and Panic Disorder and it had taken over my life. I tried SEVEN other treatments over the years before finding this one. While there is value in the other programs I tried, nothing gave me my life back until I found this program. I cannot say enough great things about the staff. I can honestly say there isn't one person that I didn't like or get along with. The BHT's are knowledgeable, compassionate, so freaking helpful, and encouraging. Every single one shows up for us with everything they've got. They will push you, talk you through it, and every. single. day. They remind us why we're doing this. There were so many times where I was unmotivated or exhausted, and they motivated me by just reminding us, every day why we do the things we do. Mary at the front desk, was my rock from day one. That woman embodies everything that this program offers and more. I will forever remember her kindness and care for me on this journey. The two main therapists I had were Jen, and Cody. Both are amazing. I didn't get to work with Jen as long as I did Cody. Cody is awesome. He's pretty straight forward and has a way of taking my biggest fears and making them into manageable exposures. The insane level of confidence I would have leaving sessions is wild. I would leave sessions thinking "why am I so sure I can do this now?" it made absolutely no sense but somehow Cody explained conquering my issues was the simplest thing in the world. The program is scary, hard, amazing, weird, and will challenge you on every level, but the results can't be beat. If you are struggling, please give it a shot. You will absolutely get out of the program what you put into it. Thank you so much to everyone at the OCD and Anxiety Center for giving me my life back.
My experience at the OCD and Anxiety Center has been amazing. I struggle with GAD, worry and anxiety has taken over my life. I tried many other treatment centers before and NOTHING helped like this program. Exposure therapy is super hard but it is more than worth it!
The center does a lot of meaningful work and plenty of clients really do benefit from the tools they learn. There is a solid foundation here. At the same time, I see room for improvement and some parts of the approach feel a little rigid. The idea of doing several hours of exposure work every day, plus homework, makes sense in theory, but it is not always realistic. This can be especially tough for people who are dealing with comorbid diagnoses or more complicated triggers. A bit more flexibility in pacing could really help clients who do not fit a standard mold. The short check ins, usually around fifteen minutes, also make it harder to figure out the deeper patterns behind someone’s symptoms. Without that time to get clarity, exposures can start to feel more like assignments than targeted treatment. I also noticed a few moments where teaching examples or training materials used specific religious language or scenarios. It was not a major thing, but it did stand out. Those examples may click with some clients, but they are not relatable for everyone. Using more neutral examples would help keep things accessible to people from any background. Overall, the program has a lot of strengths, and many people benefit from it. I just think a little more flexibility, slightly more space for assessment, and examples that land for everyone would make the experience even stronger.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ OCD & Anxiety Centers completely changed—and truly saved—my life. The staff are some of the most supportive, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested people I’ve ever worked with. Beginning treatment was one of the scariest things I’ve ever done. I attended primarily to work through Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD), Social Anxiety Disorder (SAD), Misophonia, and Panic Disorder. Through Exposure Response Prevention (ERP) and the center’s supportive approach, I gained the tools and courage to face things I truly believed were impossible. Even after completing treatment, the impact hasn’t stopped. What I learned there didn’t just help me survive—it helped me rebuild my life. Since graduating, I’ve continued doing planned exposures every week, and that ongoing commitment has allowed me to: Speak publicly — something I once thought was impossible Have weight loss surgery (and lose 100 lbs in nine months) Return to school And begin living a life I never believed was possible before treatment Healing does not end when treatment ends. The tools I gained through ERP continue to help me grow, push past fear, and do things I once assumed were permanently out of reach. There is hope. ❤️ If you’re struggling, please consider taking that first difficult step — even if it’s scary. This place proves that meaningful healing and lasting change are possible. Graduated May 2024
My only critique is the ‘bear encounter’ example used to explain a true alarm. Since most bear encounters don’t result in harm, it’s technically a false alarm by probability, even though it still illustrates how the brain responds to possible danger. It just stood out that the curriculum chose a dramatic scenario instead of a more statistically accurate one, which says more about the program’s style than the science itself.
