Valle Vista Hospital

I stayed here about a month ago. There were so many patients and a lot of drama at first, but the weekend hit and it died down. They didn't cater to my food allergens (gluten, dairy) and I didn't have a "consult" (staring at a blank zoom screen) with the "nutritionist" who was supposed to order ensures because I was practically starving myself and trying to get care for severe mental illness and an eating disorder. They don't treat eating disorders by the way. I stayed here 8 days. The group staff were excellent. The techs were terrible and very rude, particularly Q who had to watch me while I waited on an ambulance to the ER for physical health issues. He told me that me leaving was me "wanting to leave sooner. I know how the game is played." I had a 4-hour long tic attack and they did nothing to help me even after I was cussing and fell on the floor. The only saving grace for me was Dr. Dang, Brad (RN), and Devion (Tech). Dr. Dang was very compassionate and listened to my concerns. He also put in an order for DBT homework. Devion was the only sitter I had who actually talked to me about my goals and future and encouraged me to speak up and take part in group during my most vulnerable state. I want to give a special thanks to Brad. He was a savior, he was empathetic and kind when I self-harmed and helped get me ensures and bananas because I wasn't eating. He was very efficient with getting me meds and he let me talk to him when I was lower than rock bottom and on the verge of another incident. He also walked me out on my last day and wished me well. Thank you to the few staff who made this stay worthwhile. Overall, this place is incredibly hit or miss when it comes to treatment.

1 star is too much

It was useless, they would just make us sit in the dayroom the whole time to colour and it was crowded so some of us had to sit on the floor. We weren't provided with any soap. The staff weren't that just some rude ones. The food was bad. The showers were really cold.

I was in need of help and I was either going to go to Bloomington Meadows or Vala Vista Hospital and I chose vallavista because you get to smoke at least a few cigarettes a day there and Bloomington you didn't get any. well I regretted that decision! I wished I would have went to Bloomington meadows. ValaVista has gone downhill so bad over the years. they used to be a good place to go to but not anymore it's horrible! I'm not going to get into everything that went wrong because it would just take too much of my time. I'm out of there thank God and I'm over it! sorry Vala Vista you can do alot better.

I came here to get help with my son because he has become extremely violent and he has autism and let me just start off by saying this place was no help. They offered me online services when I came. I came in because of he was being violent. What the hell are online services going to do for a person that needs mental help and medicine management? You’ve gotta be freaking kidding me

Never send anyone you care about to this facility or if you sign yourself into this facility. They treat patients with zero compassion. Staff will be on their phone taking video calls being on social media. Making it clear they would rather not be at work. They don’t inform you about anything that pertains to your treatment. Had a zoom doctor who was literally in an airport discussing treatment. If you have any dietary needs they go ignored. There seems to be no clear communication at the lowest level to the highest level of staff. You are treated like another person they can bill insurance for.

The staff are very rude they have there cellphones out taking video calls during times when passing meds out patients names are being said while they on video calls scrolling on phones

Most disorganized place I’ve ever been! Absolutely no help for me pick another place if your serious about needing help PLEASE!!
