Central Kansas Mental Health Center

This mental health center has been extremely helpful in helping me have better mental and emotional health. I see Doctor Owens and he's a very good psychiatrist. The only 2 problems I recall having is that most if not every therapist only takes medicaid last time I checked, and if you don't have medicaid and you see a therapist, you'll have to pay a lot of money out of pocket. There's been 2 times when I knew for a fact that I scheduled an appointment and I even confirmed it, but then the day of the appointment, I came in and they told me that I didn't have an appointment. Other than that this place is amazing.

I had been working with Victoria Hawkins for over a year. She had been helping me through some sickness as I'm predominantly bed ridden and have many physical challenges so she had done teleheath from home which I appreciated. She was helping me through a heavy DV issue that was ongoing. To which she made a report. She did this without my consent which I understand. It ultimately spiraled into me having to leave my current situation, I made the choice but was unaware of what would happen next as I had no previous resources to leave until I was able to get a new case worker. Which although I was dealing with abuse, I am now left homeless. And am trying to work with resources that are limited. So am doing my best to find shelter as I can hardly move. At the hardest point and with one final blow left me as a therapist over the phone. Which I understand feeling like your client needs other care. However the " therapist " she said will take over's office cannot accommodate me and despite the supervisor saying she had community resources, she has no others that I'm not already using. As I am immobile, some days I cannot even lift my head, I am wheelchair bound and trying to find care, funding has been cut. So office visits are hard. I specifically went to Victoria because of said accomodations. The therapist she said they put me with dismissed any ability to accommodate or any further help. So Victoria basically left me in the wind. No gradual cushion as I escape my abusive ex in pain, and no mental health support. Pretty much a " good luck " when I needed her the most meanwhile the office cannot fix their own site issues a year later. And had said they had NO idea of my limitations going forward with a new therapist and that they'd " eventually get back to me " and were surprised by everything Victoria had said regarding my situation due to lack of communication ( supervisor went from saying why can't you come in? To " we are aware of your limitations " which makes no sense. ) Victoria basically ignored my physical limitations saying I'd have to do in visit with someone which if so why take me to begin with? As if I can magically get better easily do so, and I felt entirely discarded and hopeless at such a difficult time in my life. I understand if I had someone to back up that understood my issues at hand and need for accomodations, but as it is the office expressed her lack of communication on informing them. Someone I trusted has now done something I find beyond unethical and quite cruel. She was great for guidance, support, and for the time I had her she was wonderful. Just be wary of lack of communication as she and the office she works for do not speak on the same terms. And be wary of being randomly dropped without a rope to hold onto. Especially when it comes to chronic health and DV matters. This is not how a therapist should treat a human being. Let alone an immobile one, now homeless and fresh out a DV situation. As a therapist, make sure your client will be taken care of after your leave. Otherwise you do not care.

If I could give zero stars I would. After driving 1 hour and 30 minutes I was running 15 minutes late: I called to inform them and at that time I was informed of a 5 minute grace period. They are heartless and of course could not fit me in for a 3 minute conversation so I could get my medication that I need for my ADHD. Heartless people.

No matter what issues you have. To them money, is more important than your mental health.

Horrible service quick to take your money but slow to help your troubles if you can I recommend finding a different source and solutions if possible

These case workers are leaving people to swallow pills with no outreach for service to get meals for weeks on end. They don't care about anything at all. Completely heartless. They also stalk the clients.

The worst customer service ever actually hung up on me. I had to call back and then the lady actually transferred me to the nurse.
