Gateway Foundation in Carbondale, Illinois is a women’s-only recovery program that addresses substance abuse, trauma, and co-occurring mental health conditions in a peaceful countryside setting. The Carbondale facility is nestled on a 14-acre, peaceful property surrounded by woods. This gender-specific environment was purposely built to provide an atmosphere where women feel safe and secure. At Gateway Carbondale, women have shared bedrooms with twin-sized beds and shared bathrooms. Inside the facility, clients can enjoy a lounge area, cafe, and indoor gymnasium with a basketball court. Outside, women can take advantage of the green space provided by enjoying walks or relaxing in the outdoor gazebo.
