Well what can I say first impressions are everything. Lol my first impression of valley mental health. It's been a waste of time they're incapable of keeping a appointment. So far they've told me to come down twice to get an intake and twice they sent me back. Unorganized and so slow. I believe they can do lots better after they even tried.

Went through their SUDS program here, I have never done a program like this and it was required for probation but I didn't know what to expect and trusted my team to guide me through the program. There was no consistency between expectations for me while in the program. I was told I didn't have to tell the team where I was going to therapy which I don't start until next month and had to wait to switch my insurance for over a month before even signing up. I went through the program during the holiday season. I started before and ended just after. I missed two appointments, one after Christmas and another I wasn't aware of due to the chaos of the holiday season and never being followed up with by my team, starting a new job, and trying to plan out mental health care post holidays when offices opened back up for scheduling as well as the insurance company so I could switch my coverage. I was told I could get medication I needed at 4th Street Clinic, in hindsight it seems like being lead into making a decision that looked bad because of the medication I need, it's a benzo. When I got to the clinic after waiting 2 hours, I was told they could not refill any prescriptions like the one I genuinely need. The care contact told me I could go there and get percocets or whatever narcotic I needed, which I should've trusted myself about sounding weird because I only needed the extremely low dose of the benzo.. Especially considering the final judgement from a different member of my care team telling me I "didn't engage" and was "secretive" about post care (where I was going to therapy). They also OFFERED themselves to excellerated my completion of the program by two weeks. Why would they do this if my participation was poor? Another misguidance into making a mistake without even advising me or offering feedback. A warning to anyone seeking a SUDS program and considering their program, if you have a closed off personality or are going through a hectic part of your life, do not trust your care team's guidance. Don't be closed off, tell them what you think sounds like the correct thing to do to complete the program because they won't tell you clearly potentially and other members of your team will misguide you to see if you make mistakes when you maybe don't even know what to expect. Maybe wait until you adequate coverage for therapy and other programs so they can't blame you for not "doing anything". Who is doing anything during the holidays or even open for business? My "lack of engagement" was never even explained when I inquired, beyond not telling them where I was going to therapy which I was reassured I didn't have to do BY MY TEAM. I didn't want them to know for my own reasons. They even told me I didn't have to go to therapy but I was seeking it anyway and scheduled an appointment. In fact my care team member who failed me acted confused when I repeated verbatim and questioned her accusations of lack of engagement, she didn't even explain it. I was told all I had to do was meetings and following up. I haven't engaged in substance use and haven't missed a drug test the entire program. Just a warning for anyone looking for a SUDS program. My probation officer is more understanding than the team that was responsible for my mental health care post traumatic incident and accused me of basically following their guidance before failing me from their program. Why wouldn't I care about adhering to a program I am required to complete per my probation?

Absolutely horrible experience. Beyond unprofessional staff. From unnecessary judgment to holding someone in the office for 5 HOURS when a med appointment is typically 30--40 minutes. Ridiculous beyond belief. This place needs to get its shit together.

Horrible people!! They do not care about veterans. Extremely rude. They only care about first doing harm. I'm disgusted by my attempts to get mental Healthcare. They are horrible people just looking for money!!! Extremely nasty individuals!!!!

The hours here are inconsistent. They have an 8-5 schedule for the pharmacy but only and 8-3 for psychological assessments.

These guys do a great job with the tools given However, my medications cost an average of $1200 a month. The medications are affective. In 18 years of treatment I have taken around $275.000 in medications. The biggest problem I see is they can supply expensive medications but they also need to address the fact that if they were able to also prescribe extra financial assistance I might not need so much medication. I have found that lack of money for basic needs increases my negative mental health symptoms more than alot. I stuck with the program all these years but/and now I live in a trailer "$1100 SSDI, $1147 RV lot fee + trailer payment" I bought with "thank you CV stimulus check for a down payment" but the Credit Union is coming to repo it in a few days. Late payment. Looks like living in my truck..... Good thing I have plenty of medications to cloud the reality of it all. I can tell you that "now retired from VBH" Dr. Kim Thompson at Valley fully agreed that financial houesing assistance should be part of treatment. I think anybody would agree. So what's the hold up. Are concentration shelters a better investment than help with real houesing? ........
