I was planning on coming in for treatment here because a couple of people have said that their program was a good one, but I was turned off by the intake team. I spoke to one person who gave me a ton of wrong information (I can’t remember her name, and she didn’t initial the call log as they’re supposed to do), and another one who has been extremely rude to me every time I’ve spoken with her. Her name is Valerie. For example, I did my intake call and was planning on coming in a few days from then, but immediately after had a financial hardship happen in my life that I needed to attend to before I was able to go in. I called back within the hour of the intake call to cancel, and now, two months later, I’ve remedied my financial situation so I can safely keep my storage unit (aka my entire life’s belongings) while I’m in treatment. I called back and told Valerie that I’m able to come in now, and that I’ve already done the intake call but had to cancel due to financial hardship. She immediately dismissed me, saying “what are you talking about financial hardship? We don’t turn charge. So what, you had an appointment and just blew us off?” Without even asking me what happened.. just assuming and borderline accusing. Anyway. It was a very bad experience and this is one of many phone calls I’ve had with them where they were rude or disorganized and giving me wrong information. I hope the counselors who are with the patients day to day are more emotionally attuned and that the program is more organized than what I’ve experienced.

Cri-Help saved my life. I was in Lincoln Heights location and this rehab demonstrates a strong commitment to ethical and professional standards in the treatment of drug and alcohol addiction. The clinical team is highly qualified and takes a structured, evidence-based approach tailored to each individual’s needs. What stands out most is the genuine empathy shown by counselors, who listen without judgment and provide steady emotional support. The program balances accountability with compassion, helping clients feel safe while encouraging personal responsibility. Medical and therapeutic services are well coordinated, creating a stable and supportive recovery environment. I am diabetic and the way they were monitoring me was beyond my expectations. The facility itself is clean, calm, and designed to promote healing and reflection. Family involvement is handled thoughtfully, with education and support offered when appropriate. Progress is regularly reviewed, ensuring transparency and continuous improvement in care. Overall, this center provides a trustworthy, humane, and effective path toward long-term recovery.

This place is horrible. They kick people out like trash.

There cool with me, it's the only way I can be clean, coming from the streets of downtown LA where there is no hope in sight now I can focus on making it life...on the flip side prepare yourself for a tough program you can't hit the rack until after 4pm, so your downstairs from 9-4, no big deal right...

THIS PLACE ACTUALLY SUCKS..WHEN U GET IN THERE THEY TAKE EVERYTHING. AND U GOTTA GO THROUGH HELL TO GET IT BACK..ALL THEY WANT IS YOUR MONRY. STRAIGHT BOOT CAMP...VERY MANIPULATIVE.. GARBAGE...THEY STACK U UP WITH 10 GROUPS A DAY...YOU CANT EVEN CONCENTRATE ON THE REAL REASON FOR BEING THERE.

So I recently was a client there and honestly everything was going great i genuinely had no complaints up until I am at a staff member named Moana. I will tell you to pour your pills in a cup and then Snatch the pill bottle from you and would claim that was efficient. When we go as clients we go in loaded. That being said I don’t remember at any point losing my bracelet but what I do remember is that she lied and said that the day before when she was there that she saw the bracelet on me which was a complete lie because the staff that night noticed I didn’t have the bracelet and had mentioned it but I was unfortunately sick So the bracelet wasn’t a top priority. But she came in very aggressively about a bracelet after I had a rough day in detox falling all over the place, not feeling so good feeling very sedated and out of it. But my health meant nothing because she proceeded to be aggressive towards me over a bracelet and disregarding that I had a rough day, not feeling well. Long story short, she was very aggressive and was yelling in my face, walking towards my face, making hand gestures that I took as a threat and unfortunately let her get me out of character. What was sad about the situation was that I was kicked out for an employee, being aggressive and yelling in my face.The employee was nowhere near professional and the detox manager, Stephen sided with the employee. After other employees were telling him that Moana didn’t handle the situation good at all he still took her side. And a pretty much sent me home, still heavily sedated, and still a fall risk. Their employee Leo did take care of me and made sure I was OK when I was heavily sedated and was falling and was very sick so that was the positive out of all of this along with another employee named Sarah That I really wish was still there on shift while I was there because she really was amazing and compassionate. But why have an employee like Mohana that has no compassion that shouldn’t be working in the detox unit if she cannot handle clients when they’re at their worst. I am ultimately mad at myself for giving that woman what she wanted and coming out of character in such a way but once again, if I wasn’t detoxing and I was levelheaded, I would’ve never came out of Character like that. But were in detox were in the most fragile state if she wasn’t equipped to handle that. I’m glad that I’m getting sponsored to another facility, especially after sharing what happened to me at cry help AND I will continue to share my story about what happened to me there. Getting sent home heavily sedated on top of that smh. I feel like nurse Catherine wouldn’t have been ok with sending me home like that. But Stephen said he stands on his decision on sending me home And did not care about me at all, not even as a human being that wants helps. That wants recovery, I even promised him to not speak to Monana And to be cordial. But like he said, he’s proud and happy and stand by his decision. Let’s make this right not for me but for the next addict that has to deal with something like that at this establishment. Get rid of employees like Moana that does not care about the next addict. She didn’t care if I used and overdosed and didn’t make it and Steven cared even less. Which is sad because I was under the impression that Stephen really did indeed cared about his clients Just to be that dawned by him.

This is my own personal story, but I went to the Lincoln Heights location. It started off wonderful and honestly as far as amenities go and what they provide you it’s actually been the best rehab that I’ve seen. That’s a county bed. The bald guy that seems to tell everybody “first off I am so glad you’re here” I should’ve listened to my gut when I could tell how superficial he was being. I had several staff act unprofessionally with me, but I brushed it off and did not report it when I should have. In the end, they just make up rules as they go. I ended up leaving before I was supposed to because I was just tired of the smug attitude that I was getting from half of the staff there who started off awesome with the beginning. All of the patients liked me. The only other issue I’ve had with any other treatment facility and I’ve been the many of them unfortunately is with Tarzana. But I will say Cri help as much nicer than Tarzana. Normally based on experiences and how I review, I would give this place to maybe three stars, but these types of places are supposed to have compassion and care for people and all they wanna do is throw the you didn’t act right card over people who are actively going through withdrawal. Keep in mind I only went through detox not residential. I witnessed other patients do things way more out of line than anything that you could say that I did and even what I did it’s debatable to say was out of line. It does seem like they tried to get me back in to one of their facilities, but at the end of the day they told me no you can find another one. I’m really gonna find a way to go out of my way to figure out how to report facilities like this one and Tarzana because I don’t believe they have any grounds to deny me treatment. I’ll find another treatment center or I’ll do it myself cause I’m a survivor. But just understand you basically have to be an obedient dog at places like this. Their side of the story is that I was out of line and I was a problematic patient. I know anyone reading this is only reading my version of the story. Generally, the truth, lie somewhere in the middle. But in my eyes, I thought I was a pretty good patient and very respectful with the staff and I know all of the other patients love me. It was just at the end when something happened. That is not even really worth getting into on here cause it’s just really ridiculous. I ended up leaving. And I’ve noticed when you stand your ground and you decide you’re just gonna leave because you don’t like the way you’re being treated these types of places to switch up on you so fast.
