The treatment and communication from the first call to admissions through my son’s stay and ultimate departure from Baja Rehab was excellent. We had been through 5 high end rehabs and this was by far the best care and communication. Absadi, Adam, Shallom, Dr Juarez, Estaban were all wonderful. However EVERYONE was excellent. They understand their patients and truly care about their recovery. I highly recommend Baja Rehab. I know it’s a difficult step but if you are reading this then you are at “that point” and waiting is running the risk we all fear. My only regret is we didn’t call sooner.

I was a patient at Baja Rehab for 5 months. I'm exceedingly grateful for the opportunity to really figure out what went wrong in my life and do the hard work necessary to move forward with dignity and confidence, clean and sober and happy to be alive. On top of that, I had a lot of fun and grew really close with other patients and staff. I literally just left today and I'm sad to say goodbye but super stoked on what's to come. Headed to a sober living now, clean and serene :)

They mean well. The owners Adam and Jessica are really good people. This program is difficult but I’ve seen it change people in major ways!

As a family member of someone who was here I have extensive experience with the serious mistreatment by staff of both my family member and how staff responded to us during our family member's lockdown. Repeated attempts to talk to my brother were denied after the initial month. Finally after 3 months I was able to talk with my brother and then after his "therapist" promised we could have weekly calls my messages stopped being returned. We were repeatedly not given basic information about his condition despite requests. This included information about how his detox was going and other issues. My brother had a serious medical issue prior to going in and we thought that it was going to be taken into consideration as a medical facility but it was not. The staff suggested expensive tests which we agreed to, but then we had to fight to get the results. When we did finally get the test results it turned out they did standard tests that were not at all what we agreed upon or he needed for his condition. Despite written requests no accommodations were made for him given his medical condition which resulted in a worsening of his health. After his release we found out that he was abused and the facility operates like a prison. There was ZERO family therapy. ZERO. We were told lie after lie while believing our family member was being cared for and simultaneously estranged from him. I would not recommend Baja Rehab to anyone and our whole family has been traumatized by our experience.

First of all, I don’t know why places like this don’t exist in the United States. My 28-year-old sister, never thinks she has a problem. She has been to at least 10 treatment centers in the last five years, she hasn’t seen her daughter in two years and was living with her boyfriend. This is the only place that would take her and keep her long enough to actually change. My mom and I came for a tour. It was recommended that we come visit first to make sure that we are comfortable and that we’ve seen how everything goes. We got to see all of the sleeping areas, the chef’s cooking, and all of the other residence. The staff is amazing. It’s almost like they are all friends. My sister overdosed for the second time five months ago and my mom and I literally brought her down and dropped her off. She thought she was going to a doctors appointment to get more drugs. It’s the only way we could get her to go anywhere. She’s literally five months sober now and she looks like a completely different human being. We come down to visit every other Friday. We even brought her daughter down to visit and it was so cool to see them together. I’m writing this review because we were nervous about Mexico and we were nervous if she would get upset because we tricked her but actually it’s the opposite. She was so grateful and still is. She was upset at first, but she is very grateful now. I just wanted to write this to say thank you to Baja rehab and also help anyone who is in this position that my family was in.

I don’t usually leave a review, but this place saved my sister‘s life. She was diagnosed by bipolar about five years ago and had been very stable with her medication. She’s not a drug addict, but started smoking THC vapes and decided she did not need medication anymore. She started having very manic episodes and going into psychosis. She was saying the strangest things. She would not take meds and she would not admit that there was anything wrong. She also would not go anywhere for help. My mom goes to Al-Anon and was referred to Baja rehab. She realized she was going to have to trick my sister into thinking she was going on a retreat, but honestly, it was life and death. My sister was upset for the first few weeks, but very quickly became stable and slowly started analyzing what happened from a sober point of mind, with the help of her psychologist and counselor. My sister spent six months there and we visited almost every Friday. The transition was night and day. My sister just celebrated a year away from THC and That’s what prompted me to write this review. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ “Baja Rehab Saved My Son (and Our Sanity)” — A Very Tired Mother I never thought I’d be writing a review for a rehab center, but here we are. My son Jose has always been… gifted. Too gifted. The kind of boy who could turn a simple conversation about dinner into a psychological chess match. The kind of boy who didn’t just smoke weed — he made weed his entire personality. Wake and bake philosopher. Couch-based strategist. Self-appointed expert on everyone else’s flaws. Jose didn’t just get high — he would get high and then gaslight the whole family and everyone around him. He’d look you dead in the eye and say things like, “Have you ever considered that your reaction is the real problem?” My son was in his early 40’s still living at MY house—I shouldn’t have to worry about anything except that he keep things clean….seriously—I would tell him, “please take out the trash and stay out of the local bars!” He wouldn’t stop, he just wouldn’t. He would also get let go from every single job for dirty drug tests and being stoned! I was so fed up with the Cheech and Chong smoke all over the house…coming from underneath the bedroom door, stinking up the entire place and the gummies all over the countertops everywhere—my mother, Jose’s grandmother ate 2 of them thinking they were melatonin— it put her in a Mental spiral and left her in a state of psychosis for two full days. We didn’t realize how bad it had gotten until every family gathering felt like a social experiment. Jose would pit siblings against each other, rewrite conversations in real time, and somehow end every argument by calmly explaining why he was the victim. All while eating Doritos. That’s when we knew: this wasn’t just weed. This was advanced psychological nonsense. We literally had to beg him to go to rehab. We knew he wouldn’t stay anywhere past 30 days so we sent him to Baja Rehab. From the moment Jose arrived, something shifted. For the first time in his life, he was around people who didn’t fall for his mind games. Turns out, you can’t out-manipulate professionals and other clients who have already seen it all. He tried. Bless his heart, he tried. Baja Rehab helped Jose confront the fact that: Not every thought needs to be shared, not every emotion is a strategy, and weed is not a substitute for a personality. They didn’t just help him stop smoking — they helped him stop monologuing. He left with humility. Accountability. And the shocking realization that other people have inner worlds too. Is he perfect now? Of course not. He’s still Jose. But he listens. He apologizes. And he no longer forces people to dinner as “power dynamics,” and as a source of getting them to join on his munchies that used to be drug induced. He dropped the weed altogether…he also learned healthier patterns, especially when it came to control. For that alone, Baja Rehab deserves five stars! One of my closest friends was struggling with a severe meth addiction and truly didn’t see a way out. He had been living on the streets and in Mexico, without support or resources, and things felt really hopeless for him. Baja Rehab stepped in at a moment when it mattered most and offered him a scholarship so he could enter treatment at his own free will. He was genuinely happy and deeply grateful to be given this gift of sobriety, and he accepted the help willingly and with an open heart. As his conservator, I’ve been closely involved in his recovery and have stayed in regular communication with his psychologist. I’ve been able to see his progress firsthand, and every visit reminds me how far he’s come. His physical health has improved, but even more meaningful is the clarity, stability, and sense of self that’s slowly coming back. I also want to share that I have a close friendship with one of the owners, Jessica. She truly put her hand out to help me when I didn’t know where else to turn. She is incredibly kind, genuine, and amazing to work with, and I’m so grateful to have her in my life. She showed up for both me and my friend during a time when we needed support the most, and I’ll always be thankful for that. Right now, my friend is doing better than he has in a very long time. He recently asked to stay an additional month because he wants more time to get on his feet and thoughtfully plan his transition. That choice alone speaks volumes. We’re all really proud of him, and I’m deeply grateful to Baja Rehab for giving him the space, care, and support to truly heal.
