I would give this facility one star, however I will give it to them that this center is very well done, modern, and clean. However, that’s as far as I can go with the compliments. I attended Refresh for a few short months and was not only a part of their program, but their sober living homes as well. To start on the sober living homes to begin with, drug usage is absolutely rampant; particularly in the men’s homes. It is also common knowledge that clients are peeing for each other in order to pass their tests, and the head of the program is well aware that majority of the clients still smoke week, even while they are in this program, where the goal is total sobriety. Some of the staff was cool, but the bad out weighed the good ones unfortunately. I was even told by the head of the program that I had to attend meetings not for my benefit, but due to the fact “they only had at most a few years of clean time, and that the program itself with their help would not be enough help. Keep in mind this was after thousands of dollars were given to them. Counselors are very surface level. Not bad, but not anything to write home about. I feel like the best way you can describe this place is if you were to say they are incredibly money oriented, and are more worried about an economic outcome rather than their clients wellbeing. This was clear quite early on. All you do here is eat snacks and on a very surface level talk about your life for 45 minutes. Not to mention they require 8 of these sessions (45 min-1 hour) in a SINGLE DAY. They believe that if they drain your money, put people with very little experience in charge, and allow you to eat goldfish and talk about your problems very promptly, you will magically be cured. In all honesty, I relapsed more in this program than I did in the past year in its entirety- when I was only attending the program for about three months. I’ve had more clean time just going to a clinic. My best advice? Don’t waste your money, just go to a clinic instead.
