The experience at Klearwell was outstanding from start to finish. All of the staff are extremely professional and understanding and take time to ensure you feel completely at ease throughout the whole process. It has been truly transformative and I would recommend it to anyone seeking this treatment. It Is truly a treatment that brings long lasting change instead of continued medication. The ketamine treatment combined with highly skilled therapy enabled me to process decades old trauma.

My experience of ketamine-assisted therapy here was incredibly special. The course was pretty life changing, I managed to shake habits that I never thought I could and some of my thought patterns have been completely altered. The good trips were literally euphoric and the darker ones were tricky but totally manageable - these were the ones which ended up pushing the real change anyway. Every single staff member made me feel comfortable and safe, plus the environment was soothing, almost like a spa. I had the best experience I've ever had with a therapist with Fardijah, too. I would - and regularly do - recommend this service to anyone who meets the criteria.

If you are looking to try Ketamine assisted therapy you will want to give it the best shot and do it properly. I highly recommend this clinic! Their service was flawless from start to finish. These people are experts in their field and have a wealth of experience across the board. For example, the therapist I was assigned to is a practicing psychologist of 30+yrs with extensive training and experience in psychedelic assisted therapy and a natural ability with holding space. The clinic is headed up by Consultant Psychiatrist and Medical Lead Dr Matthew Liveras who was involved in my process and a pleasure to work with. There is also medical personnel on site. The whole team were genuine and delightful. Importantly, their program and approach is carefully considered and personalised to achieve optimal results. The therapist is with you at all times during dosing sessions as well as follow up integration sessions. (This was not the case at other clinics I looked at). I was apprehensive to try ketamine therapy but my experience was super manageable and worthwhile due to the level of care and attention I received from the practitioners and staff at this clinic. I am grateful to each one of them.

Seems very professional and staff are lovely but last session was horrendous and I was not supported mentally at all leading to a rapid decline. These treatments can seem too good to be true. And sometimes they work and save lives but when they make it worse they don’t know what to do. Research with great care. I’d advise ketamine infusions with psychotherapy and if in doubt contact clinics in the States. They are so much more progressive.

I received a course of ketamine-assisted psychotherapy (KAP) at the Awakn Clinic to address the recurrent, treatment-resistant depression that I have suffered from since my late teens. My experience at the clinic was excellent. At all times I felt that I was in a safe and caring environment. Working with my therapist, and with the assistance of the ketamine experiences, I was able to shift my mindset and break through mental barriers more in a few short weeks than I had been able to in years of traditional therapy. My therapist also equipped me with tools to help me maintain and build on the gains I have made. It is still early days, but I feel that this treatment is potentially life-changing. My loved ones have all noticed that I’m much more engaged with life, and more present and positive since I had my treatment. I just wish that this treatment had been available to me 30 years ago.

The treatment I experienced for trauma, anxiety and depression exceed my expectations. I am so grateful for their help. It has made a real difference to my mental state after a lifetime of unsuccessful talking therapy and anti-depressants. On one of my first calls, Dominic, one of the therapists (who I was eventually assigned to) immediately put me at ease, answering all of my initial questions. Coming from a scientific background, I had done a lot of reading of academic papers on KAT and I did have a lot of questions which, I felt, were answered fully by the professionals I met and spoke to. When there wasn't data to support an outcome, the clinic was transparent and I appreciated this. Once my queries were answered I attended the clinic in person where I was greeted by several, very friendly and warm nurses who were reassuring, provided tea and small talk which put me at ease. I then had a two hour meeting with the onsite psychiatrist who I found warm, credible and authentic. I was allocated a therapist, Dominic, who I worked with for the following 12 sessions. Although nervous about the ketamine experience, I felt reassured that I was in a safe environment, being looked after by medical professionals. I had a marked change in mood immediately following my sessions and this was sustained by the skillful use of Compassion Focused Therapy. I felt very comfortable exploring challenging thoughts and early life experiences and couldn't have hoped for a better therapist. Four weeks' on, I still feel better, partly because my mood seems lighter but primarily, I think, because I feel I have learnt a set of tools that allow me to cope with uncomfortable and unpleasant thoughts and what, I now recognise as my firmly embedded inner-critic. This doesn't mean that I haven't had difficult thoughts, I have, but perhaps less so and now I feel better equipped to deal with these; I hold onto them more lightly and don't get quite so attached to what would have previously been, cyclical ruminations. This isn't a 'take a pill' miracle cure but, instead, a shift in the way that I see the world, in how I think about myself and in how I cope with and defuse some of the frightening thoughts that had before felt both overwhelming and an inescapable part of being me. I now realise that they are just thoughts and I have learnt methods for letting them be, as opposed to trying to get rid of them, and just not getting so involved in them. My children and partner have noticed a change in me - apparently I am less 'shouty', warmer and more engaged and present. I have my fingers crossed that, if I turn to this toolkit during tough times but also keep up the practices when things are good, that I will continue to build my resilience. I found the team at Awakn to be flexible and person-focused, for example, I have decided to have some further therapy sessions with Dominic so that I can be held to account on my practices and have the safety-net of someone to talk through any bumps I encounter on the road over the next few months. Some of this will be face-to-face, some online. I hope to be able to report continued improvement over the next few months but, at this point in time, I would certainly recommend this treatment for those who have experienced years' of mental anguish and have tried several different medications. Whereas several of the 9 different SSRI's/SNRI's I have tried over the years had moderate success because they numbed me to the bad and the good, the CBT tried to rationalise an irrational mind and the psychoanalysis encouraged me to blame my upbringing, KAT seems to be a treatment that fosters growth in the recipient, allowing me to learn new skills in terms of managing my thoughts and emotions. As such, I very much hope (and suspect) that this type of treatment will become more prevalent and available, particularly in a field where there have been few new drugs or therapies of note since the 1990's. Awakn is at the forefront of this potential revolution and, if my experience is anything to go by, they are at the top of their game in terms of care, support and outcomes.

I have PTSD and Non Epileptic Attack Disorder and no 'conventional' treatments (medications and therapies) had been working. I felt like I was stuck in a very negative cycle and did not see any hope of progression. Having just completed my Ketamine Assisted Therapy at Awakn Clinic I can now say this has changed. I can see a light at the end of the tunnel! My symptoms have improved and I have left with a more clear understanding on ways I can continue to work on and improve my mental health. All of the staff I came into contact with at the clinic were welcoming, empathetic and helped to create just the atmosphere you would wish for from such a facility. My therapist Dom, went out of his way to understand what would make me get the most out of the treatment and managed to gain my trust and but me at ease. He was fantastic at checking in, to make sure I was happy and comfortable with how things were going. He helped to guide me but also gave me the freedom to control the process whenever I felt I could, which I found empowering. The nurses were always thorough in their checks and made sure I never wanted for anything while in the clinic. From tea and biscuits to a bit of small talk to reduce my anxiety, they got it all spot on. You can feel that everyone involved with the clinic are there for the right reasons and have the needs of the patient as the forefront of their minds. If you are at a dead end in terms of your treatment options or looking for hope I would highly recommend speaking to the clinic and seeing how they could help you. They will advise you on what you may need to do and even if you are not currently in the right situation to begin the treatment (which I was not the first time I got in contact) they will do their best to work with you to find a solution.
