In a PHP, patients live at home but follow an intensive schedule of treatment. Most programs require you to be on-site for about 40 hours per week.
Outpatient treatment offers flexible therapeutic and medical care without the need to stay overnight in a hospital or inpatient facility. Outpatient care typically offers a range of therapies and medical interventions individuals can attend alongside daily life.
Some primary care providers offer mental health diagnosis and treatment. This can prevent patients from developing more serious conditions.
Substance use and mental health can occur simultaneously as co-occurring disorders. Treatment for co-occurring disorders involves therapy and other personalized interventions to address both conditions.

Love Natalie and the girls they are amazing this facility. It’s the only place attached to mainline health. That is amazing.!

The nurse practitioner here, Ronit Sharma, should not have a license to practice in any healthcare setting. He attempted to gaslight me that I “looked high” because my pupils were dilated, according to him. I checked my pupils on my phone & also talked to other staff who agreed that my pupils looked NORMAL. Regardless, there are other likely reasons a patient’s pupils could be dilated such as STRESS or AUTISM or a PRESCRIBED MEDICATION or even an OVER THE COUNTER MED. This incident revealed his ignorance, bias, unprofessional behavior & lack of commitment to science. Furthermore, there is scientific evidence that larger pupils correlate with higher intelligence. He also attempted to give me an example of a delusion and when I said “that’s not really a delusion though,” he looked slightly embarrassed and agreed with me. He also tried to gaslight me about my paradoxical reaction to a beta blocker which I later found out occurred due to a contraindication with another medication that none of these “medical professionals” even noticed. I had to figure out ON MY OWN that I had unopposed alpha adrenergic stimulation from the imbalance of taking a non-selective beta blocker (ie blocking all beta adrenergic receptors) with a medication that is an alpha agonist. He also recommended a mood stabilizer, all of which are contraindicated for my learning disability and my fatigue symptoms, again due to his personal bias and lack of commitment to science. I was also never told in intake that using cannabis is prohibited during the program, even with a medical card and even if it is being used to treat a mental health condition. This is a blanket provision with no regard for the wellbeing of patients. Just a horrible place.

My experience at Mirmont Outpatient Hospital of Main Line Health has been extremely disappointing and unprofessional. I traveled to the facility two days in a row without access to a personal vehicle, rearranging my schedule and spending my own time and money, only to be turned away both times for issues that should have been handled internally. On February 26, I was told I could not be seen because I was 15 minutes late. While frustrating, I accepted that and returned the very next day, February 27, hoping to finally receive care. Instead, I was informed by two staff members, including a manager named Sarah, that they do not accept my insurance. This makes absolutely no sense considering I provided my insurance information three weeks prior when scheduling the appointment. I even came in the day before to confirm. At no point during scheduling or confirmation was I told my insurance was not accepted. Insurance verification is a basic intake responsibility. That oversight wasted my time not once, but twice. What made this worse is that Mirmont advertises Uber assistance for patients who need transportation. Not once did anyone initially acknowledge the inconvenience they caused or offer to help me get home after I traveled there unnecessarily. No apology. No accountability. It was only after I explained how upsetting and financially frustrating this was that an Uber was finally offered — and that was at the very end of the second encounter. The fact that I had to advocate for myself after their administrative errors speaks volumes. This situation was completely avoidable. Professional healthcare facilities should have professional systems in place. Patients should not suffer because intake staff failed to verify insurance properly. I left feeling dismissed, inconvenienced, and completely let down by a system that should operate with more responsibility and care for the people it serves. I truly hope this review encourages improvements so no one else has to experience this level of disregard for their time and circumstances. — Arielle Woodard

If you use cannabis to treat legitimate medical problems they will act like you are some depraved drug addict who doesn’t know what they’re doing and force you into their substance abuse program when that’s not what you’re actually there for. Huge barrier to getting mental healthcare, especially when it’s seemingly the only IOP in the area that takes Medicaid. You’re better off just lying to them during intake if you want to get help for the things you actually need help with.

I would not recommend my friends, family, or even my worst enemies to Mirmont Broomall for treatment. This was one of the most pathetic businesses I've ever had the pleasure of dealing with. I was plagued through the entire treatment process with simple business practices that were unjustifiable. It is super depressing to know people go here at a low point in their lives and are potentially treated this way. As a money grab. First, it took the entire treatment period (2 months) to get my paperwork correctly completed. There were therapists that were unhelpful through the entire paperwork process. The therapists refused to read the paperwork, rolled their eyes at me, huffed, and puffed when I kindly asked them for help. The clinical supervisor was just as bad if not worse. She did not hold any of her team members accountable as far as I know. There appeared to be a complete lack of job classification. The clinical supervisor would sit in her office with the door open most days, staring into space, and laughing with her colleagues, as the patients walked around looking for a morsel of help or respect. Straight mockery. No professionalism. If it was not for me having somewhat of a clear mind and educational background, I could see myself failing the entire program thanks to these fools. The educational material in the group settings was helpful when it was there. The therapists struggled at times to bring the group back to common ground. I hear a lot of times, "It works if you work it." This is the only reason I got anything positive out of Mirmont. Simply because I worked the program and on myself to my own benefit. I had to basically beg to be seen by Dr. Izzo or his LPN pawn, Dr. Ron. I was initially suggested by my personal therapist to meet with Dr. Izzo, who never had the time of day to see me. As a result, I met with his pawn, Dr. Ron, who was somewhat helpful. I had to beg anyone at Mirmont to simply help me or do their job. Very sad. I understand that I was not the only patient there and gave my peers all the time they needed for their specific reasons before eventually self-advocating. There was one therapist, Missy, who was a light at the end of the tunnel. Also, the division manager, Lisa, listened to my concerns and dialed her team in when all else was failing. Kudos to these two individuals. See ya never Mirmont!

I can’t say enough good this about this place, Kim, Ben, Dr. Shah and everyone else is remarkable, they truly care. Their PHP program is top of the line. It’s a game changer, I’m now in IOP and working on myself. I’m so grateful for this place. Thank you.

Condescending care team. They don’t listen to their patients.
