Long review; summary here:
-Great people, from director to doctor to counselor to nurses and front desk, there's not a single unpleasant person, everyone is really kind and helpful.
-Great facility and location
-NO LINES. EVER. (in and out and in 2 minutes)
-If you're going to another clinic in Miami or Ft L, what are you doing...?
Hands down the best treatment center for opiate problems in south florida - i was fortunate to live close to its convenient north miami location right off of Biscayne/US-1 and super close highway access to 95. The only place I would go to for treatment in South Florida.Where to start...the staff is nothing short of amazing, they want you to succeed and really care about their patients, to the point of even bending their own rules from time to time - for example, part of my problems that led to my substance misuse in an attempt to self treat was pretty significant ADHD issues that made executing plans difficult because of my time management - I somehow have the talent to consistently be 10-15min late to things I sometimes change my schedule and be consistently 10-15min late past closing even. And despite my best intentions it would happen multiple days in a row. I wouldn't even have had patience for myself! And yet they did for me, always calling to remind me to come in or to see where I was, and even staying open a few min late for me sometimes. I really don't know how they didn't scream at me, as I'm sure they must have wanted to, but they were always kind and really seemed to want you to stay in treatment and not miss days of dosing! Counselors are wonderful, never seem rushed or like they don't have time for you. Esther, my counselor (sorry for the fake name here! Just don't want my real one associated with methadone! maybe some day it won't be as negative) - I'm sure she can guess who from the anecdote above, was very kind, and went above and beyond to help me especially these confusing last few months. She's very knowledgeable and empathetic, and certainly destined to go far in the field and also make a difference in lots of people's lives.
The clinic director is really wonderful too, unlike other place where you've never seen and will never see or interact with the director, you can't miss her infectious and bubbly good-natured energy and constant beaming smile. The second you open the door and walk in she will say Hi, X! or give a big wave if on the phone. She's helped me with all sorts of issues. I hope she doesn't remember what I was like when I joined, but the clinic did exactly what she promised it would, got that opiate problem stable so that I could focus on other things in my life.I don't want to go into details, but it was such a massive boon for my health. I went from throwing up multiple times a day and barely able to eat back to normal. Wasn't a smooth path, but she was always there. (I didn't put your name because I'm afraid I will spell it wrong! Lol)I know she's worked very hard on the clinics launch and I'm sure it will succeed, it's really not missing anything. I was sort of enjoying the fact that there weren't many patients (YET) since I never had to wait. The doctor is great too, he's understanding and kindhearted and will listen to you. Nothing but positive things there (although it would be good if it was possible to get an EKG in the clinic - I checked and looks like professional models are available at the $3000 or so mark - I paid $650 or something out of pocket for a screening not using my insurance, I should have just purchased one instead! - don't worry if youre reading though, insurance should cover, I just had other reasons for doing it like that)
The nurses especially Flor and front desk Keyarra (Kieyarra? Sorry) were the people you see daily and they take time to develop nice rapport with you, always nice to see them. The space itself is nondescript on the outside (a good thing)and beautifully recently refinished on the inside with a computerized system for dose queing and when you enter.
