I cannot Recommend Avery Lane Recovery for Women highly enough. From the moment I arrived the supportive and compassionate staff and professionals made me feel supported and understood. The personalized treatment plan worked with my specific needs, including therapy, groups sessions, and holistic activities. The clinical team was top rate and really helped me through some significant trauma and help to rebuild family connections. It was a very nurturing environment, fostering, both emotional, and physical healing. Avery Lane was a transformative place where I could regain my strength and find clarity and continue the road to recovery with tools that have been invaluable to me in many areas of my life. I wish I had gone to Avery Lane at 24 years old instead of at 64, for my addictive behaviors. I learned so much about myself and finally live my life with more authenticity, calm and ease. This was my first time in recovery; I had no idea what to expect. I didn’t expect the settings and houses to be so beautiful, quiet and welcoming. The houses are large while keeping the number of women living there small. Eight women is a common number, ages range from 24-70 which sounds impossible but it somehow works! Rooms are shared with one other roommate close in age, or single rooms are available. The food is made daily from fresh ingredients by a committed group of chefs, one of which will break out in song! They tend to make more vegetable dishes than carbs. It sounds to good to be true, but, the program was not what I expected and exceeded my expectations. Group classes and activities like swimming, hiking, and outings are scheduled everyday. NA, AA, Dharma, and other types of support groups are attended in the early evenings. These meetings offer support and help to familiarize clients with various types of programs available in their own communities. Daily group and twice weekly one-on-one therapy sessions are led by practicing, licensed, and published women therapists who are on the cutting edge of women’s recovery, trauma, and the building of life skills for navigating addiction. I learned so much in a short time and will continue to be grateful to the staff for their insights and dedication. I would highly recommend Avery Lane to women of any age suffering from addiction and needing to get their life back.

My experience at Avery Lane was absolutely life changing and helped me acquire the tools I needed to get long-term sobriety as someone who is dual diagnosis. The therapist’s and staff there truly put their heart and soul into the work they do and care deeply about each client as an individual.

Avery Lane is an incredible program for women seeking recovery from addiction and trauma. The staff truly cares and helps you get to the root of your addiction while rebuilding your life. My experience there was life changing, and I’m deeply grateful for the growth and healing I found.

Horrible experience. They forced me to detox off my Ativan against my will starting day 1 at their mental health facility, not a substance abuse facility, A MENTAL HEALTH FACILITY FOR TRAUMA. Now I have even more PTSD and trauma to add to my list. They then threatened to 5150 when I asked to leave on day 5 and wanted to take my medicine with me. They made me sign all these forms for over 2 hours before I could leave and the CAs were singing karaoke in the other room while I was having a mental breakdown begging to leave. It literally felt like I was in a fever dream. The most unprofessional staff for a mental health facility. No one knows what they are doing or how to communicate treatment plans with each other. I witnessed people accidentally get double dosed on meds while I was there too from careless mistakes by under trained staff. This place needs to be investigated.

I just discharged from the Atherton house. It was a lovely place. As a woman who has experienced so much trauma in my life (of all kinds) I have a hard time feeling safe especially around strangers and in a new place. I have to admit that I felt very safe just like I was at home. I was at home; Avery Lane Atherton facility was my home. Temporarily. I made friends with all of the other women (clients). The other women were all friendly and welcoming to me. It's never easy going to rehab but if it was; this place is a good way for it to feel that way. The therapists are highly educated and skilled. My therapist (Summer LanFranco) helped rewire my brain in literally 60 days. She has to be God sent because she works miracles. I'm a walking miracle in the sense that I am actually living on my own and I am not completely depressed or in a crisis. I never thought I could do it. I didn't know how. And that is okay because I don't have to have all the answers or any answers for the matter just the want to and today I do want to because I now know it's possible. I used to want to die I mean I really didn't want to live. I was so scared and stressed out about being alone and scared. I'm not scared anymore either. I mean there were times when I looked at her sideways and even talked some shit with the other women (nothing horrible just the usual bitching lol) but I always had to take it back because she was so good at what she does she was helping me when I didn't even expect or know what was happening. She is so talented I have to give her credit simply because I pay my debts now lol and she has earned it. I used to think that I was going to die by suicide or a fentanyl overdose but I don't think like that anymore. I have to of course give all the Glory to the Good Lord for if it was not supposed to be it would not so thank you heavenly Father for always keeping me in your favor. Thank you Avery Lane. Ps You can't watch any television except for Saturday night movie night where you are alotted 1 movie that the ENTIRE HOUSE MUST AGREE ON And it can't be anything entertaining (sex drugs vulgar language drinking gang activity or anything that is too sad depressing reminds you of something bad or triggers you THERES ALWAYS THAT ONE WHO MANIPULATES THE STAFF TO GET WHAT THEY WANT. NO OUTSIDE FOOD OR DRINKS but you might get to go to Peet's coffee on Saturday not guaranteed though also no candy or junk food or soda WHATSOEVER They have chefs Mary was my absolute favorite She would bake us cakes cookies and goodies Thank you Mary She made it easy for me to be there The most inspiring and uplifting woman to have small chat with Chef Mary really deserves recognition for accommodating the women and what we wanted Anne Well I am so sick of tuna, mushroom soup and curry or artichokes I'm never eating them again I don't understand why we had a chef there who made food that I could have made just as crappy as I could(tuna sandwiches so basic no pickles no nothing). Not to mention the same bagels and salmon every week. We ALL DREADED ANNE EXCEPT FOR THE FACT THAT SHE DIDN'T LEAVE ANY DISHES FROM COOKING BUT WE WOULD HAVE RATHER DISHES THAN BLAND BASIC FOOD. Not to mention that I don't eat shell fish or fish and those things were prepared at least 4 or 5 times a week so that's how many meals I would go without because accomodations were just too much to ask for of the chef who has 3 hours to make a bunch of tuna sandwiches for 5 women who secretly despise it. Thank you Chef Derek for the most delicious. WHOOPY!!!! Pies I've ever eaten in my life. Other than that..... Oh yes the Two Recovery counselors both named Lizzie. Those are the two names that you need to know. Natalie Judit and of course SUMMER are going to teach you how to grow mentally emotionally spiritually and physically. By the time you leave you will be a whole new woman. So pay attention in their groups.

Avery Lane is absolutely a clinically sound and aesthetically perfect program for women in recovery. I would confidently recommend it to a family member without hesitation!

Avery Lane was a safe, positive and welcoming atmosphere to rehabilitate and learn new tools to use to sustain my sobriety. They use evidence based, modern modalities to treat clients and the staff are amazing and genuine. In addition, there facilities (which are upscale residential houses in Novato) are incredibly nice and clean. I felt like I was on vacation at a resort most of the time. These houses are worth millions and the pools and the amenities were top notch. Food is great and therapists were great. Nurses and techs included! Most of all they ensured continuity of my care and recovery moving forward after completing their program. After initially going to Bayside, Marin, I found Bayside to be too cooperate, basing their client treatment in favoritism and here-say, and rigorous to a flaw (overstimulating and exhausting when you’re in post acute withdrawal). It was very stressful at Bayside Marin to complete hefty homework assignments by deadlines in order to have rights such as visitation. Meanwhile Avery Lane practiced common sense and understanding and ensured their care was patient centered. My experience there was life changing. And I might (someday) apply to work their as an RN myself because the culture is so positive and full of supportive women.
