Go to Renaissance ranch instead. Sober living is free there with Medicaid.
THE BAD:
I was a resident at diamond recovery and had a mixed experience. The management only cares about money. They don't get you a free sober living voucher when you complete the program like everywhere else
Yeah, they help you get some resources like a $2,000 voucher you can use on housing to be successful then want you to spend $900 to move into their sober living and share a room with another addict. For $900.... To share a room. while you do 30 hours of post treatment classes. So you don't have time for a job, then when you finish the 6 weeks of classes you have 2 weeks to try to play catch up with a job and pay their $800 rent fee. Then you can't use that $900 on what you actually need. They make so much money from your insurance but still charge you the money they helped you get from the state, that's the only reason they help you get it, to exploit your situation. They don't lower the php hours or work with your job at all. They won't even let you talk about it or you get targeted. I complained about the high price and they say that doesn't even pay half the rent. But there is 3-4 guys paying they much, so how doesn't that cover the rent?? They literally told me "its not even your money" so why did I care. But it is your money not theirs. You don't need to go to treatment to get the grant. They would always try to coherce you into going to their post
treatment program. Because they make more money that
way.
The whole program is so unorganized sometimes they wouldn't come down for class, or had no lesson plans. One of the employees was having sex with a resident.
Another employee came in drunk after driving drunk to get there on her day off to try to work.
An they don't have a clue about what a treatment center should be run like. They don't help you be successful in the long run. In the short run yes, but ultimately they just wanna keep you quiet and complacent till they drain your insurance and the grants they make you apply for.
The dentist is a joke. They came one time in 60 days even though people were complaining about tooth pain, infection, and cracked teeth. They gave a man antibiotics and told him the dentist would come soon and then he ran out of antibiotics before he was seen and they just asked if it was "an emergency" or if he could wait. They make you go through their dentist, their doctor and wait on their schedule. I was two weeks late for a shot I told them I needed 3 weeks before it was needed.
An last but definitely not least is the nurse.
One of the employees named Charlie who is the Nurse there would be super disrespectful and called me "a pain in the ass" to the doctor because I was asking about meds I took on the street. Another time she used what had happened with residents that no longer were there, residents 6 months prior, as an excuse to deny us privileges. No professionalism at all. Not to mention she was nodding out after she came out of the bathroom with her backpack when she thought we were gone to a NA meeting and she was alone at the house. Disgusting behavior.
She told us her story one day. That She used to work for the hospital but had to leave for stealing meds before they found out because she was slipping so hard. So I personally have been in addiction on and off for over 15 years and I would have bet my bottom dollar that she had relapsed. 3 of us noticed her behavior and it was very triggering. Just a terrible person example of what a nurse of all people should act like and how she should treat people.
THE GOOD:
There are a select few employees that actually care; Misty, Courtney, Drea, Amy, Dan, Rae Dawn, Kayla, Shawnee, and the Ashley's. They actually took time out of their normal job to make you feel important.
Special shout out to Courtney, and Misty because they are really awesome at making you feel seen and helping accommodate you. I love you two
The program allows you to smoke cigarettes, and do nicotine pouches.
You do get the gym 6x a week.
They have a chef
